Description:
At Fusion 2 Inc, we are seeking a high-impact Senior Engineer to drive the development and sustainment of next generation Navy Weapons Systems. This position serves as a technical linchpin, bridging complex engineering requirements with Navy Acquisition Processes. Working directly with the Integrated Program Team Lead (IPTL), you will influence the full lifecycle of critical defense systems—from pre Milestone A planning to rapid acquisition and long term sustainment. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, high security environment.

Objectives:
• Integrate new capabilities; define system gaps; develop requirements, specifications, technical documentation, and engineering roadmaps.
• Coordinate engineering efforts across design, integration, testing, and fielding phases.
• Analyze manufacturer proposals, conduct trade studies, and provide technical risk management insight.
• Collaborate with Government personnel, contractors, and SMEs to ensure technical execution aligns with program objectives.
• Apply expertise in DoDI 5000.02 to guide weapons systems through the Defense Acquisition lifecycle.
• Proactively identify and resolve technical or procedural conflicts to maintain program efficiency.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities Include:
• Develop engineering documentation, specifications, presentations, reports, and technical analyses in support of weapons system development and sustainment.
• Conduct technical reviews, trade studies, and assessments of manufacturer proposals.
• Support integration efforts across design, development, test, evaluation, and fielding of Navy Weapons Systems.
• Coordinate with IPTL and program stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy, alignment, and risk mitigation.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive technical and programmatic information.
• Assist in technical planning, scheduling, and coordination of engineering activities.
• Support acquisition activities, milestone documentation, and engineering reviews.
• Translate complex technical data into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
• Operate effectively in a multi-network, security constrained environment.
• Be responsive to program communication needs, including technical tasks requiring rapid turnaround.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in a relevant discipline (MBSE, software engineering, avionics, communications/datalinks, EW, etc.).
• Experience working in dynamic, schedule constrained, complex security environments with multiple networks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe tools.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as CAMEO or IBM Rhapsody (as applicable).
• Ability to independently manage complex tasks and pivot between early stage R&D and legacy system sustainment.
• Demonstrated ability to convert complex technical data into decision quality insights.
• Ability to work autonomously and within cross-functional engineering teams.
• Active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience supporting Navy acquisition programs, IPT structures, or rapid acquisition environments.
• Familiarity with DoD weapon system development, integration, and sustainment processes.
