Job Description:
The M365 Copilot Engineer / Administrator (GCC High) is responsible for designing, securing, governing, and operating the Microsoft 365 Copilot ecosystem within a regulated, high-security environment. This role ensures that AI capabilities, data flows, and platform integrations comply with GCC High requirements while enabling responsible, secure, and effective use of Copilot across the organization. The engineer partners with compliance, security, IT operations, and business teams to deliver a robust and scalable AI platform.
Job Responsibilities:
Governance, Compliance & Security
- Enforce GCC High security, privacy, and compliance requirements, includingFedRAMP High, DoD SRG, NIST, and regulatory standards.
- Implement and manage governance for AI usage, Responsible AI policies, and data-access controls.
- Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments and platform-specific risk evaluations.
- Govern access to Copilot features, custom agents, connectors, and datasources to ensure secure and compliant operations.
Engineering & Platform Management
- Design, configure, and maintain the M365 Copilot environment, includingtenant-level AI configurations and data-scoping settings.
- Integrate and manage services across Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Teams within GCCH constraints.
- Build and validate connectors, data sources, and Copilot Studio agents.
- Oversee secure publishing, controlled access, and lifecycle management of custom Copilot agents.
Release, Deployment & Operations
- Lead readiness assessments, controlled pilot phases, and organization-wide deployment plans.
- Create runbooks, SOPs, support procedures, and architectural documentation.
- Provide Tier 3 engineering support for Copilot services, identity issues, and data-access challenges.
- Monitor adoption, performance, system behavior, and platform health; deliver improvement recommendations.
Collaboration, Training & Change Management
- Collaborate with security, compliance, platform engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure responsible AI adoption.
- Develop and support training programs, communication plans, and AI governance education.
- Provide insights to leadership on platform maturity, usage trends, risks, and strategic capability development.
Required Skills:
Advanced Expertise in:
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 GCC High environments.
- Strong understanding of Copilot platform mechanics, agent creation, data-source governance, and AI oversight.
- Proficiency with PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, automation, and identity-access troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with GCCH-specific service limitations and secure-environment operations.
- Knowledge of FedRAMP High, DoD SRG, NIST 800-53, cybersecurity standards, and secure-data practices.
- Experience implementing DLP, sensitivity labels, data classification, and access-governance controls.
- Ability to enforce Responsible AI guidelines and ensure secure content generation.
- Experience driving multi-phase rollouts, pilot programs, and enterprise IT projects.
Intermediate Proficiency in:
Ability to produce documentation such as architecture diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, and training content.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Power Platform in GCC High environments.
- Background supporting CUI, ITAR, or other regulated workloads.
- Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert or Security Administrator.
