The Asset/Government Property team within SMS's Integrated Supply Chain organization is responsible for the day-to-day management of company and customer-owned assets and property as directed by company requirements, including, but not limited to, all applicable company policies, government regulations and contractual/programmatic directives.

The role of Manager, Supply Chain, Asset/Government Property is accountable for the management, oversight and training of the team of property professionals who manage company-owned assets and government-owned property. This role directly reports to the Director of ISC Business Operations & Compliance.
The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution - from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.

The Integrated Supply Chain team has a direct impact on program success, acting as a critical chain that links the end-to-end material flow together. Our organization helps propel us forward and achieve true mission partnership.

What You'll Do:
  • Direct and manage a team of employees within the Asset/Government Property department, providing guidance, supervision, and development opportunities in both classified and unclassified environments.
  • Conduct internal analysis of Asset/Property Management organizational performance, identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to specific departmental problems.
  • Produce reports and present data on key metrics and process evaluations to senior management as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with asset management and government/customer property management company policies, government regulations and contract clauses.
  • Provide high level of leadership and support in internal and external audits to mitigate risk and ensure positive results.
  • Create, delegate or participate in the implementation of new policies and procedures within the Asset/Property organization.
  • Develop, prepare, and track departmental budget and be accountable for executing within established budgets.
  • Develop and deliver training on handling of company assets and government property to direct reports and other team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources Business Partner on sensitive matters, including promotions, change of status actions, and participate in hiring and onboarding of new staff.
  • Write and conduct performance appraisals for team members.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • BS/BA in related field plus 8 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active Secret security clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
  • Industry certifications, such as NPMA or CPPX, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven leadership and management experience in Asset/Government Property.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118747 - $201870

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
