At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As an IT Program Manager, a typical day will include the following duties:
Work Requirements:
- Work with customers to translate operational needs into technical requirements.
- Track program progress, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Support technical meetings with vendors to communicate program and mission requirements and provide technical advice and direction based on practical knowledge.
- Develop project talking or briefing points in support of communication requirements for a program with a community-wide client base.
- Collaborate with other operational teams to achieve Customer objectives.
- Brief customers on program status and technical solutions.
- Infuse Program Management best practices into Customer programs.
Required Skills and Demonstrated Experience:
- Demonstrated experience with oversight of IT development teams.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical support and training to a broad client base, both technical and non-technical.
- Demonstrated experience understanding emerging technical trends.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating between technical development teams and operational stakeholders to successfully deploy technology to the field.
- Demonstrated experience in systems integration and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in systems engineering and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience supporting technical IT operations.
Highly Desired Skills and Demonstrated Experience:
- Demonstrated experience with mobile communications infrastructure and technologies.
