Job Description:

Semper Valens Solutions is looking for an Associate Technician to support our team in Ft. Belvoir, VA.

This role will provide equipment readiness and maintenance operations support to the Research & Technology Integration (RTI) Directorate, specifically supporting the Business & Operations Facilities and Equipment Branch (FEB). This role contributes directly to the effective management, accountability, and sustainment of RTI facilities and equipment resources.

The candidate will be assigned to the Transportation section within the FEB and will be responsible for supporting a diverse fleet and equipment portfolio, including GSA vehicles, military vehicles, trailers, forklifts, tractors, heavy construction equipment, weapons, and night vision devices. Duties will include coordinating scheduled and unscheduled service activities, tracking asset usage and lifecycle data, documenting inspection results, and maintaining accurate maintenance records.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Coordination: Dispatch and manage scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for GSA vehicles and other assigned equipment across multiple operating locations.

  • Equipment Support: Coordinate with third-party vendors and maintenance providers for repair and service of vehicles, weapons, night vision devices, tractors, trailers, forklifts, heavy construction equipment, and military platforms including HMMWVs.

  • Lifecycle and Utilization Tracking: Monitor mileage, operating hours, and lifecycle data for assigned assets to support maintenance planning, replacement scheduling, and readiness reporting.

  • Inspection and Fault Documentation: Conduct technical inspections, identify deficiencies, and document findings using appropriate maintenance forms and records, including DA Form 2404 and DA Form 5988-E.

  • Work Order Management: Open, update, and close maintenance work orders; record labor hours and status changes in G-Army, and prepare manual documentation when digital system records are unavailable.

  • Turn-In Preparation and Compliance: Prepare equipment designated for turn-in by removing batteries, fluids, and other required components in accordance with safety and environmental procedures.

  • Safety and Readiness: Ensure all maintenance actions, documentation, and equipment handling activities comply with applicable safety standards, operational procedures, and organizational requirements.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in a technical field is acceptable in place of some experience where applicable.

  • At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, vehicle maintenance, technical inspections, or a related support environment.

  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance, fault identification, work order tracking, and maintenance documentation practices.

  • Ability to use maintenance systems such as G-Army or comparable recordkeeping platforms and standard office software.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between operating or maintenance locations, if required.

  • Ability to follow safety procedures, use appropriate protective equipment, and handle maintenance materials in accordance with established guidance.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience in vehicle, equipment, or maintenance operations.

  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with preventive maintenance, inspections, equipment fault identification, and maintenance documentation processes for vehicle and support equipment operations.

  • Systems and Tools: Experience using maintenance management systems such as G-Army or comparable platforms, along with proficiency in standard diagnostic tools and common office software.

  • Documentation Skills: Ability to accurately complete and maintain maintenance records, inspection worksheets, and work orders, including use of forms such as DA Form 2404 and DA Form 5988-E.

  • Communication and Coordination: Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders across multiple locations.

  • Safety Awareness: Understanding of safe handling procedures for batteries, fluids, and equipment designated for maintenance or turn-in.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment, tools, parts, and materials up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods while performing inspections, maintenance, and equipment support activities.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions and around vehicle, shop, or field maintenance areas.

  • Ability to operate tools, diagnostic devices, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.


Clearance Requirement

Active Secret clearance preferred; must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship required. Ability to work under an interim clearance, as applicable.
