Role Type: Contingent Contract Position (6-month contract, 4/10 schedule, 1st Shift)

Job Description
You'll play a critical role in supporting ongoing engineering flight and ground test operations by performing precision strain gage installations on advanced aircraft and facility components. This is hands-on technical work that directly impacts the validation of next-generation aerospace systems. You'll work alongside experienced engineering teams, applying sophisticated measurement techniques to components manufactured from various metals and composites.
Your work ensures accurate data collection for structural analysis and performance validation—every installation you perform contributes to flight safety and system reliability.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform strain gage installations using Wheatstone bridge wiring methodology on aircraft and facility components.
• Execute surface preparation, measurement, layout, alignment, and bonding of strain gages to specification.
• Install and configure measurement systems and instrumentation wiring for data collection.
• Measure and document strain data for Torque, Axial Load, Bending, and Shear applications.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Micro-Measurements techniques and procedures.
• Support extended and modified shift requirements, including overtime as needed.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all installations and test procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure measurement accuracy and system integrity.
Required Experience/Skills
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with strain gage installation and measurement systems.
• Proficiency in Wheatstone bridge wiring methodology and instrumentation wiring.
• Demonstrated ability to work with surface preparation, measurement, layout, alignment, and bonding techniques.
• Experience applying strain gages to both metallic and composite aircraft/facility components.
• Knowledge of measurement systems, data documentation, and technical specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and test procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in technical work.
• Flexibility to support overtime and modified shift schedules.
Nice-to-Haves
• Fluency and hands-on experience with Micro-Measurements techniques and proprietary procedures.
• Experience in aerospace or defense test operations.
• Familiarity with flight test environments and ground test facilities.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation integration.
Education
• Equivalent of 4 years high school and 2 years engineering college or technical school.
• Technical certifications in instrumentation or related fields are a plus.
Pay & Benefits Summary
