Description:Serve as the F-35 Pilot Systems Software Architect. In this role, the candidate will drive the F-35 display software architecture decisions for all F-35 contracts. The candidate will be responsible for making high-level design decisions, work to enforce technical standards for all supported platforms and design for re-use and affordability. This will require significant experience with F-35 Mission Systems architecture, display software, and knowledge of how F-35 displays fit into the F-35 architectural paradigm. The successful candidate will also have experience with multiple display software architectures, including both head-down and helmet mounted displays to support architecture decisions. Also required is a strong knowledge of digital video techniques, especially in a real-time system using uncompressed standards, particularly as used in the F-35. The candidate will be required to interface with the customer so must have a strong knowledge of how the ultimate customer uses the displays, how to interact with those users in a supportive, but business-wise manner, and how those displays interact with the rest of the system to create the PVI seen by the customer The candidate will be required to provide support for the development and acquisition activities of procuring new display hardware platforms. In addition, the candidate will evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes to ensure the highest quality product. Finally, the candidate will be required to work in an agile software development environment and coordinate with Product Owners and other peer organizations to ensure the design and implementation of display software to address the complex needs of the customer.
Must be a US citizen. This position requires special access and a Secret clearance updated within the last 6 years to be considered.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required in Computer Science and or Software Engineering. Experience in the following:
• display architectures typically found in aircraft systems
• graphics drivers, and graphics language implementations typically found in aircraft systems
• software development in C++ specifically aimed at embedded avionics and aircraft systems
• scripting experience (Python, Perl, etc.)
• operating systems (Green Hills, Linux, etc.) for embedded Real-Time environments used in avionic and aircraft systems
• design, integration and test of embedded display systems and software operational programs.
• complete software lifecycle development process and automated test philosophies
• Agile/Scrum Development
Must be a US citizen. This position requires special access and a Secret clearance updated within the last 6 years to be considered.
