Software Tester (Manual & Automated)
Hybrid – 2 Days Onsite (San Antonio, TX – Tech Port) / 3 Days Remote
Long-Term W2 Contract
Supporting U.S. Air Force Program
Overview
We are seeking a Software Tester with strong experience in both manual and automated testing to support a mission-critical defense program. This is a long-term opportunity working on complex systems in a collaborative, Agile environment supporting national security initiatives.
What You’ll Do
Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test scripts
Create test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on functional requirements
Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing
Identify, document, and track defects and issues through resolution
Validate data through backend/database testing (SQL or similar tools)
Execute end-to-end testing across web-based and enterprise applications
Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables
Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
Provide test reporting, metrics, and recommendations for system improvements
Required Skills & Experience
Experience with both:
Manual testing
Automated testing tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar)
Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Experience creating and executing test plans and test cases
Ability to translate requirements into effective testing scenarios
Experience working with web applications and backend systems
Familiarity with SQL or database validation
Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD or federal government programs
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or DevOps environments
Familiarity with secure or compliance-driven systems
Experience working in hybrid or mission-driven environments
Work Environment
Hybrid schedule: 2 days onsite per week in San Antonio (Tech Port)
Long-term W2 contract with strong program stability
