Senior Technical Project Manager
Location: Remote-first with occasional onsite customer support
Clearance: Clearable
Employment Type: Part time

Company Description

Big Impact Tech (BIT) is a Small Business providing IT and business management consulting to federal and commercial clients. We deliver mission-focused solutions in data, cloud, cybersecurity, and program management.

Position Overview
CyberVault Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to lead and operationalize complex cybersecurity modernization, GCC High migration, CMMC readiness, RMF, and Zero Trust transformation initiatives across commercial, federal, and defense-aligned environments. This is not a traditional administrative project management role. We are seeking a mature, client-facing operator capable of independently managing high-visibility cybersecurity engagements, coordinating technical and compliance workstreams, interfacing directly with executive leadership, and driving projects from discovery through operational readiness and assessment preparation. The ideal candidate understands how to bridge engineering, governance, compliance, operations, and business objectives while maintaining exceptional communication, strategic thinking, customer engagement, and execution throughout the engagement lifecycle. This role is designed for senior-level professionals capable of independently owning engagements with minimal oversight while maintaining exceptional professionalism, accountability, communication, and delivery quality. CyberVault Solutions operates with an engineering-first mindset focused on real-world operational security, long-term sustainability, operational maturity, and measurable cybersecurity outcomes — not simply checklist-driven compliance exercises. This position begins on a part-time, as-needed basis aligned to active customer engagements and delivery timelines, with strong long-term growth potential as CyberVault Solutions continues expanding its GCC High, CMMC, RMF, and Zero Trust practice areas.

Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end cybersecurity modernization, compliance, and cloud transformation engagements
• Manage GCC High migration initiatives and Microsoft security modernization programs
• Coordinate engineering, governance, compliance, and operational workstreams across customer environments
• Lead CMMC Level 1 and Level 2 readiness initiatives
• Oversee SSP development, POA&M management, evidence collection, remediation tracking, and governance activities
• Build and maintain project delivery frameworks, workflows, governance cadences, operational pipelines, and reporting structures
• Facilitate executive briefings, customer workshops, engineering syncs, and stakeholder meetings
• Manage project risks, dependencies, milestones, remediation activities, and operational impacts
• Develop scalable delivery processes and operational maturity strategies
• Coordinate directly with cybersecurity engineers, compliance personnel, executive leadership, assessors, and customer stakeholders
• Ensure customer engagements remain aligned to timelines, operational objectives, and assessment readiness goals
• Support assessment readiness activities, mock assessments, operational walkthroughs, and evidence defensibility efforts
• Produce executive-quality reporting, documentation, status updates, governance artifacts, and customer communications
• Maintain high-quality customer-facing written and verbal communication throughout engagements
• Assist with strategic planning, customer growth initiatives, technical solution discussions, and long-term cybersecurity roadmaps
• Support occasional proposal development, scoping, and pre-sales strategy activities when needed
• Operate independently with minimal oversight while maintaining exceptional customer experience and delivery quality

Qualifications
• 10+ years of project/program management experience in cybersecurity, compliance, cloud modernization, federal IT, consulting, or regulated environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field

• Experience with GRC platforms (any major platform)
• Ability to bridge technical engineering implementation with compliance, governance, operational maturity, and business objectives
• Experience preparing organizations for assessor validation, evidence defensibility, mock assessments, and operational readiness activities
• Strong understanding that cybersecurity maturity extends beyond documentation and requires operational defensibility, technical implementation maturity, governance alignment, and sustainable processes
• Ability to balance cybersecurity, operational realities, customer priorities, and business objectives
• Comfortable presenting technical and compliance concepts to executive leadership, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to produce clear, defensible, executive-quality technical and compliance documentation
• Strong written, verbal, executive, and customer-facing communication skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple concurrent workstreams and customer engagements
• Comfortable operating within a client-services and billable-delivery environment where accountability, communication, execution quality, and customer satisfaction are critical
