Job Responsibilities
- This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility and will have the option to work in person or hybrid schedule.
- Apply disciplined systems engineering topreserve the Government technical baseline, proactively identify and resolve field and overhaul line issues, and ensure rebuild actions and upgrades maintainOperational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness and fleet readiness.
- Develop and maintain key engineering plans and disciplined change control, lead and participate in structured reviews that drive corrective actions, continuous improvement, and maintain accurate technical data and configuration records that keep the field sustainment and depot rebuild operation aligned to Air Force requirements.
- Will be a visible technical leader across engineering, production, and Government stakeholders translating data and field feedback into actions that improvereadiness, reliability, and mission capabilityfor cargo loaders that enable the Air Force to deliver people and equipment anywhere, anytime.
- Execute systems engineering to sustain Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) baselines for cargo loader fleets
- Support field/depot-level technical sustainment support activities and travel as required to execute program tasks
- Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve field sustainment and depot overhaul line issues/process or material deficiencies impacting cost, schedule, or performance
- Maintain/improve Systems Engineering Plan (SEP) to govern execution of technical activities
- Maintain/execute Configuration Management Plan (CMP) and ensure configuration definitions remain accurate for fielded and depot rebuilt assets
- Develop and staff Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)/Contract Change Proposal (CCPs) packages and support configuration control board coordination/approvals
- Maintain/update system-level technical baselines and specifications as requirements evolve
- Maintain system safety program plans and update safety assessments when changes occur
- Partner with depot operations to implement continuous improvement (process/equipment changes) that reduce labor hours while protecting performance baselines
- Participate in recurring System Review Board, technical interchange meetings and program status reviews, providing clear visuals and technically accurate status/issue communication
- Participate in Earned Value Management (EVM) program baselining and variance activities
- Develop/maintain necessary data analysis toolsets as required to support performance assessment and status accounting
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
- Provides technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Expected to have knowledge and significant experience in multiple engineering disciplines
- Must possess excellent analytical and communication skills, written and oral
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Lists, Planner, Project, OneNote, SharePoint, and TEAMS)
- Experience in Corel MindManager, Windchill Risk and Reliability, and later versions of DOORS requirements management software preferred
- Ability to travel occasionally in CONUS (~25%)
