We are seeking a MUMPS Developer to support healthcare application development and sustainment within Federal environments. This role focuses on developing, modifying, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining MUMPS routines and related VistA functionality. The MUMPS Developer works with technical and functional stakeholders to implement reliable software changes, resolve defects, and support mission-critical healthcare systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Develop, modify, test, and maintain MUMPS routines supporting VistA-based applications.

·        Analyze requirements, defects, and user-reported issues to determine needed MUMPS code changes.

·        Troubleshoot MUMPS application behavior, data issues, and workflow defects in development, test, and production-like environments.

·        Review existing MUMPS code to understand business logic, dependencies, and potential impacts.

·        Implement code fixes and enhancements consistent with established coding, testing, and release practices.

·        Support unit testing, regression testing, defect validation, and documentation of results.

·        Collaborate with developers, testers, analysts, and functional stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

·        Prepare technical documentation, implementation notes, and support materials for software changes.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

·        3+ years of hands-on MUMPS development experience.

·        Experience developing, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting MUMPS routines.

·        Experience supporting VistA or other MUMPS-based application environments.

·        Ability to analyze existing code, identify defects, implement fixes, and validate software changes.

·        Understanding of Agile SDLC practices, requirements analysis, testing, defect resolution, and release support.

·        Experience using code repositories, issue tracking tools, and configuration management processes.

·        Ability to document code changes, troubleshooting steps, and implementation support information.

·        Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:

·        Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs, is a plus.

·        Experience supporting VA VistA, VistA Pharmacy, Outpatient Pharmacy, or other VA healthcare applications.

·        Familiarity with VistA patch support, software sustainment, or release support activities.

·        Familiarity with pharmacy, clinical, or healthcare operational workflows.

·        Understanding of Federal healthcare information security, privacy, PHI/PII protection, and compliance expectations.

·        Prior experience working with clinical, pharmacy, or healthcare informatics stakeholders.

EDUCATION:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

CLEARANCE: 

·        Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

WORK LOCATION:

·        Remote
