Data Science Bias Detection & Model Evaluation Intern

The Opportunity
This is a paid internship. This role supports an NLP bias-detection system built with Hugging Face Transformers, PyTorch, FastAPI, and Docker. The Stronghold Data Science Bias Detection & Model Evaluation Intern works with the team to understand existing capabilities. The Intern will build and execute a plan to modernize the capability. The intern will work directly with the team to deliver updates through the sprint process including presentations to executive leadership. The intern will receive real-time feedback in a collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities (Principal Duties and Accountabilities *Essential Functions)

• Track action items and milestone deliverables; identify and report delays or risks promptly.
• Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to gather inputs, share status updates, and resolve scheduling conflicts.
• Support the Team Lead by assisting with internal reporting and documentation.
• Work effectively in a dynamic environment, prioritize tasks independently, and follow through to completion (including occasional after-hours support when required).
