The Strategic Technology Analysis Group (STAG), part of SPA's Space and Intelligence Division, offers sophisticated capabilities (people, process & tools) to resolve unique problems in space, cyber, and special operations in support to military services, Secretary of Defense offices (OSD) and theater warfighters. Our portfolio includes the Assistant Secretary of Air Force for Space Acquisition & Integration (SAF/SQ), Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC), Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), National Space Defense Center (NSDC), Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO), US Space Command (USSPACECOM) and US Space Force (USSF). SPA has an immediate need for a Capabilities Integration SME.
Responsibilities
Seeking a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) contractor to provide military vehicle design, development, and test support in a fast-paced DoW Research & Development (R&D) office. The contractor will support the Project Manager in overseeing the formulation of large, multi-axis vehicle system requirements and Force integration planning. This role emphasizes the technical aspects of development as well as coordination with service partners to understand how it will be integrated within the transition service and the CONOPS for employment. The ideal candidate brings strong DoW operational experience or direct support to military technical development and program execution that can be translated into actionable insights to support leadership investment decisions and project delivery.

- Interacts with transition partner at technical and operational levels.
- Coordinates and drives operational system reviews across the range of transition partner DOTMLP-F areas.
- Coordinates requirements development and hardware design with consideration of pertinent human factors in an operational setting.
- Maintains cognizance over technical activities within project sub-IPTs to ensure logical applications are integrated across the project (Command and Control Systems, Material Handling, System and Sub System Operations, Fire Control Systems, as examples).
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate and validate complex DoW systems, advanced weapon systems, and C4ISR equipment.
- Participates in project reviews, assesses contract deliverables, and coordinates with technical review boards on decisions with broad program impact.
- Maintains cognizance of the programs adherence to processes in the development, production, and test of system-level and sub-system products.
- Maintains cognizance over technical activities within project sub-IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the practices across the project.
- Reviews Vendor Integrated Master Schedules (IMSs) to ensure product plans will reach delivery times according to the overall project schedule.
- Works with the Program Management team and chief engineer to understand priorities and drive project execution in alignment with those priorities.
- Develop presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain designs to program management and all stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline
- 15+ years supporting DoW operations and/or programs
- Able to work full-time in a Chantilly VA office within SCIF/SAPF spaces
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with large multi-axis military vehicles with integrated weapons, hydraulics, power systems, defensive systems, and command, control, and communications subsystems
