Navy ERP Subject Matter Expert (5806)

GVI, Inc., a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking a Navy ERP Subject Matter Expert.

In support of the Naval Sea Logistics Center, we provide program management and material management support in Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (NERP) to the OM&S Assessment Team for the various standard and local systems used by NAVSEA Material Management Divisions. We provide implementation/sustainment support for all the OM&S Phased conversions for the Working Capital Fund (WCF) and General Fund (GF) activities. In this position, you will support the ongoing assessments of the Naval Warfare Center's IM and WM functions.

Position responsibilities:

Administrative Tasks
  • Support creation of Material Management OM&S/Asset Management procedures, Metrics (Weekly, Monthly Quarterly, and Yearly), business rules process guides, and desk guides. Perform periodic reviews and updates of current desk guides and process guides.
  • Provide support for OM&S Material Management Heat Ticket creation, tracking, and resolution coordinating efforts with the NAVSEA ERP Business Office and the NAVSEA ERP Material Management users.
  • Participate in various OM&S meetings, tiger teams, working groups, TELCONs, etc. to provide Navy ERP OM&S expertise and to capture action items and make recommendations for actions.
  • Provide support in the reviewing, creation and modification of Unique Material Masters (UMM).
  • Provide support in the creation and modification of Purchase Requisitions (PR) and of the process of PR creation and modification.

Audit/Assessment Functional and Technical Tasks:
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SMEs) for functional areas such as Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Physical Inventory, Material Movement, Storage, Disposal, Repairables, and Automated Information Technology in NERP.
  • Support requests for information, data calls or reports related to Navy ERP, and other related systems and software by OM&S Assessment Team. Research requirements, collect and tabulate data, and draft inputs.
  • Participate in OM&S Tiger Teams to identify and recommend process/system improvements and generate Inventory Records for the OM&S Phased Inventory layouts.
  • Remain current on Navy ERP and NAVSEA Business Rules and their justification/purpose to be able to explain the changes to users. Evaluate management and user concerns, analyze examples provided by users, help users with applications and coordinate with OM&S Assessment Team personnel as required to meet user needs.
  • Provide user support in part through customer meetings to receive user ideas, complaints and other inputs as well as provide documentation of such.
  • Provide support for OM&S Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness/Remediation (FIAR). These tasks include making process recommendations, developing audit checklists, supporting division testing, and making updates to existing documentation based on FIAR.
  • Provide support/knowledge transfer for Pre-Expended Bin Identification. Shop Stores, Kitting, Work-In Progress, OM&S Material Identification, and Disposal efforts.
  • Provide OM&S support for NAVSEA OM&S inventory and warehouse management, ensuring proper processes are being followed and full utilization of NERP functionality.

Required Experience:
  • US Citizen •
  • Active Secret Clearance Required.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in Navy-ERP IM/WM functionality AND a strong background in Navy Supply processes and procedures...Bonus points if your expereince is in supporting NAVSEA activities.
  • Substantial experience in pulling metrics data and reports from Navy-ERP.
  • Ability to create adhoc queries in Navy-ERP related to IM/WM functionality.
  • At least 5 years' experience in performing assessments and inspections in a Navy Supply related environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
