Job Description

The UI Front End Software Engineer (SWE3) is directly meeting mission-critical needs in partnership with mission customers. This individual will lead a team of UI developers, designing front-end architecture and coding standards while remaining hands-on in development across the full software product lifecycle in an agile environment. Responsibilities span analyzing user requirements to derive design and performance standards, developing and debugging software, integrating systems, and implementing algorithms to meet performance goals. The ideal candidate has front end experience, translates UX/UI designs into accessible, production-ready interfaces, and mentors junior developers while collaborating closely with system engineers and product stakeholders to resolve technical problem areas.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of UI/front-end developers, providing technical guidance, standards, and code review

Architect and implement scalable, maintainable front-end solutions using modern frameworks

Translate prototypes and design specifications into functional, responsive, and accessible interfaces

Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs, ensuring efficient data flow between front-end and back-end systems

Contribute to full-stack development efforts as needed, including backend services, database interactions, and deployment pipelines

Establish and enforce front-end coding standards, best practices, and component reuse across the team

Partner with UX/UI and systems engineers to ensure design intent is preserved through implementation

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, cross-browser issues, and technical debt

Participate in sprint planning, technical estimation, and architectural decision-making

Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG) throughout development



1. Twelve (12) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

2. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelors degree.

3. Seven (7) years' experience in Software Database and Repository Interface Development

4. Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements

5. Debug existing software and correct defects

6. Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards

7. Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features

8. Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments

9. Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories

10. Write or review software and system documentation

11. Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project

12. Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries

13. Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards

14. Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components

15. Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas

16. Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance

17. Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design

18. Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team products

19. Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards

20. Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project

21. Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces

22. Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met

23. Recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects

24. Serve as the technical lead of multiple software development teams

25. Select the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering

26. Ensure quality control of all developed and modified software

27. Delegate programming and testing responsibilities to one or more teams and monitor their performance

28. Proven experience leading or mentoring a development team

29.Strong proficiency in modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) and standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

30. Full-stack experience, including backend development (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, RESTful/GraphQL API design

31. Experience with state management, component-based architecture, and responsive design

32. Familiarity with version control (Git) CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud is a plus)

33. Experience working closely with UX/UI and systems engineers to ensure accurate implementation of accessible interfaces

34. Experience working with tiered architectural systems and in a Linux/Ubuntu environment is a plus

Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required

The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $203,000. This range is a good-faith estimate that reflects various experience levels. At CyberCore, we consider multiple factors when determining compensation, including the specific role and its responsibilities, the candidate's professional experience, geographic location, education, and relevant skills. This range is not a guarantee of salary, as final compensation may also be influenced by contractual requirements and other considerations.
