Job Description
Modern Technology Solutions Inc. (MTSI) is seeking Security Specialist Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide services supporting U.S. Space Force (USSF) missions, including Special Access Program (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security services across the full Research, Develop, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) and acquisition lifecycle. The SME will work with multiple MTSI and USSF organizations and their security offices. The SME will work in multi-level classified environments. A successful candidate should be a self-starter who possesses initiative, excellent communication skills, the ability to lead diverse teams and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and a proven problem solver.

Compensation
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $130,000/year to $200,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Interpreting and implementing DoD, National Agency, and AF policies and doctrine to ensure proper compliance, classified information remains protected, and insider threats are mitigated
- Liaising with external organizations such as Headquarters AFOSI PJ and USSF Security to resolve policy discontinuities and forge new processes
- Assisting in the development, staffing, and deployment of DD254s to include SCI and SAP addendums
- Identifying ICD 705 SAPF/SCIF accreditation items and assisting to correct or mitigate risks
- Advising MTSI and customer leadership on current security policies and procedures, and resourcing required to for obtain and maintain access and protect SAP and SCI information
- Liaising with other security offices, company and government leadership, and representatives from other organizations to properly implement policies, processes, countermeasures, and enhanced security protocols to reduce or mitigate vulnerabilities to sensitive technologies
- Providing expertise in the authoring and all aspects of physical security process and Standard Operating Procedures for classified facilities
- Identifying and reporting security deficiencies to support regulatory compliance and assisting in developing mitigation or remediation plans
- Assisting in identifying Operations Security (OPSEC) indicators and helping to implement OPSEC measures to protect program activities
- Providing assistance and expertise in the development and implementation of SAP and SCI security education and training program designed and tailored to meet specific requirements
- Program Protection & CPI Identification
- Providing expertise in drafting security classification guidance on behalf of the customers
- Observing the assessment and authorization of Information Technology systems IAW the JSIG and NIST and providing professional inputs
Required Experience:
- 15 or more years of experience working on security across the full spectrum of the acquisition lifecycle
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in SAP or SCI environment, three (3) years within the last five (5) years
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience with industrial, personnel, physical and information security
- Deep understanding of ICS 705 requirements and technology required to meet those standards
- Experience with supply chain risk management
- Demonstrated experience assessing and mitigating risk through the identification of threats and vulnerabilities and the effectiveness of countermeasures
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently
Desired Experience:
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects to closure, and to assimilate and correlate project information in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Education /Certification Requirements:
- Master's degree in organizational management or related field
- If candidate only has a BS, then 15 years of relevant security experience and other certifications may be substituted for this requirement
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
Security Clearance Level Required:
- Must have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility (Must be a U.S. Citizen).
- SAP eligible
