Job Title: Enterprise Cybersecurity BigID Engineer
Location: Hybrid – McLean, VA
Job Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $62,000–$141,000

We are seeking an Enterprise Cybersecurity BigID Engineer to support enterprise data
security initiatives focused on protecting sensitive information across cloud, on-premises,
and AI-enabled environments. This role will leverage BigID’s AI-powered data security
platform to discover, classify, and protect critical data while helping mature and scale the
organization’s Data Loss Prevention (DLP) program.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with data security engineering, DLP
policy tuning, workflow automation, and compliance initiatives. This individual will partner
closely with cybersecurity, compliance, and infrastructure teams to implement scalable
controls, reduce data leakage risk, and strengthen enterprise-wide data governance.
Key Responsibilities
• Leverage BigID’s AI-powered platform to discover, classify, and protect sensitive
data across cloud, on-premises, and AI environments
• Develop and support advanced Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies to prevent
unauthorized data exfiltration and strengthen enterprise data protection
• Configure, optimize, and tune DLP policies to reduce false positives and mitigate
data leakage scenarios
• Support execution of zero-trust security initiatives through BigID integrations
with platforms such as Microsoft Purview
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, compliance, and engineering teams to mature
and scale the organization’s DLP program
• Automate workflows and platform integrations using Python scripting
• Assist with governance audits, reporting, and documentation related to
enterprise data protection initiatives
• Train stakeholders on BigID dashboards, workflows, and best practices
• Evaluate risk across structured and unstructured data sources and recommend
remediation strategies
• Help support enterprise DLP ecosystems across endpoints, network
infrastructure, and SaaS environments
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in DLP engineering, cybersecurity engineering, data
security, or related fields
• Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools such as Microsoft Purview, Trellix,
or Tenable
• Experience using Python for scripting, workflow automation, or systems
integration
• Experience developing and tuning DLP policies and reducing false positives
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise security
initiatives
• Experience training or supporting stakeholders on security platforms and
dashboards
• Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience deploying and configuring BigID for enterprise data discovery and
classification
• Experience with structured and unstructured data mapping across multiple
enterprise systems
• Experience supporting military-grade or highly regulated compliance
environments
• Experience creating incident response playbooks and supporting governance
audits
• Experience designing scalable data protection strategies across hybrid
environments
• Knowledge of DLP ecosystems spanning endpoints, network environments, and
SaaS platforms
• Strong understanding of privacy and compliance frameworks including GDPR,
CCPA, and NIST
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to enterprise cybersecurity
and data risk
