Swingtech is seeking a Sr. Application Developer to support the operations, maintenance, and enhancement of mission-critical enterprise applications in a federal IT environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on developer who is comfortable working across legacy and modern application platforms, troubleshooting production issues, supporting integrations, resolving defects, maintaining database-driven applications, and improving application stability.
The selected candidate will work with technical teams and customer stakeholders to support application availability, service request resolution, software updates, testing, documentation, and controlled production releases. This position requires someone who can operate effectively in an application O&M environment where reliability, security, data integrity, and responsiveness are critical.

Swingtech is seeking a Sr. Application Developer to support the operations, maintenance, and enhancement of mission-critical enterprise applications in a federal IT environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on developer who is comfortable working across legacy and modern application platforms, troubleshooting production issues, supporting integrations, resolving defects, maintaining database-driven applications, and improving application stability.

Responsibilities
- Support operations and maintenance of enterprise business applications across production and non-production environments.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects, application issues, service requests, and production support tickets.
- Develop, modify, test, and maintain application code using technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Java, web services, SQL, and PL/SQL .
- Support applications that interact with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server .
- Assist with application enhancements, backlog items, bug fixes, integrations, and recurring maintenance activities.
- Support data exchange, application interface, reporting, and workflow-related functionality.
- Collaborate with system administrators, database administrators, analysts, testers, security personnel, and customer stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in functional, regression, integration, and production validation testing for new or modified software.
- Support controlled change management and production deployment activities.
- Help maintain application availability, performance, security, and data integrity.
- Document technical changes, recurring procedures, issue resolutions, application dependencies, and operational support steps.
- Follow secure coding, configuration management, version control, testing, and release management practices.
- Provide technical input for root-cause analysis, recurring issue reduction, and continuous service improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience as a senior software developer, application developer, or software engineer.
- Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails , Java , PL/SQL, web services / WSDL
- Experience working with relational databases, including Oracle, MySQL, and/or SQL Server .
- Experience supporting production or mission-critical application environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot application issues across code, database, integration, and environment layers.
- Experience with software testing, defect resolution, release support, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
