Blu Omega is seeking a Data Linkage Task Lead to drive complex, large-scale data integration efforts supporting federal healthcare research. This role leads the end-to-end linkage of CMS, federal, and non-federal datasets to create high-quality, research-ready data assets used in critical NIH-supported studies.
You'll operate at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and federal data compliance, leading a team delivering secure, scalable, and innovative data linkage solutions.

You'll operate at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and federal data compliance, leading a team delivering secure, scalable, and innovative data linkage solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead large-scale data linkage operations across CMS, federal, and external datasets (EHR, claims, social determinants data, etc.)
- Oversee PII-based and privacy-preserving (PPRL) matching techniques
- Deliver research-ready datasets, including longitudinal and synthetic files
- Ensure data quality through validation, lineage tracking, and audit controls
- Guide development of data documentation, codebooks, and metadata tools
- Partner with security and platform teams to ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST 800-53, and CMS policies
- Drive adoption of automation, AI/ML-based matching, and anomaly detection
- Support data access, DUA processes, and secure data distribution in enclave environments
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the data team
Qualifications:
- PhD in Health Services, Economics, Social Sciences, Behavioral Research, or similar
- 5+ years leading large-scale data linkage or data integration efforts
- Strong experience working with complex, multi-source datasets
- Deep knowledge of data linkage methods (deterministic, probabilistic, PPRL)
- Experience in federal or regulated data environments
- Solid understanding of data security, governance, and compliance frameworks
- Technical fluency across data platforms, tools, and infrastructure
- Strong communication skills-able to translate technical concepts to stakeholders
Nice to Have:
- Experience with CMS data, VRDC, or NIH programs
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications in data matching or validation
- Background in metadata management, MDM, or longitudinal data design
Compensation
Salary Range: $110,000 - $160,000
Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
