Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly motivated Sustainability Data and Operations Analyst to join the Northrop Grumman Corporate Environmental Sustainability Program and help advance sustainability within Northrop Grumman. This position will report to the Manager of Sustainability and Reporting who is within the Chief Environment, Safety and Quality Office.

The Sustainability Data and Operations Analyst will be responsible for understanding and managing the collection and review of the enterprise's sustainability data (GHG emissions, energy, water and waste), in support of the Company's internal and external sustainability reporting and internal sustainability strategy and execution.

This position is located in Falls Church, VA. We are open to discuss this position as a hybrid working arrangement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead sustainability data collection for GHG, energy, water and waste to accurately report the company's sustainability data in Salesforce Net Zero Cloud, including ad-hoc analyses, respond to external and internal data requests, support external assurance, and internal audit requests
  • Perform first level QA/QC of data
  • Prepare company-wide sustainability protocols
  • Build relationships with internal business sectors and functional organizations to enhance collaboration and innovation in the environmental sustainability initiatives
  • Support the company's Scope 3 GHG inventory calculation
  • Ad-hoc support of developing new capabilities within Net Zero Cloud
  • Ad-hoc support of the sustainability reporting process


Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 2 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree or Associate's with 4 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma with 6 years of relevant experience


Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 3 years of experience or Associate's with 7 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma with 9 years of relevant experience


Basic Qualifications for Both Levels:
  • Demonstrated ability and/or understanding of environmental sustainability inventory preparation, including GHG, water and/or waste data
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including data analysis over large volumes of data
  • Experience or interest in growing project management skills
  • Collaborative mindset, enabling effective teamwork with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong verbal, written, and computer skills (including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams)
  • Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize, plan, and execute in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality results
  • Experience or interest in learning and growing in Aerospace and Defense sustainability


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree with an engineering, environmental sciences, and/or sustainability focus
  • Relevant sustainability experience or experience in implementing environmental programs
  • Innovative mindset with a demonstrated ability to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions
  • Experience with Salesforce Net Zero Cloud
  • Expertise in sustainability within Aerospace and Defense and/or manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding of technical concepts specific to solid waste minimization and hazardous waste management, greenhouse gas emission reductions, renewable energy and water conservation


Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
