Job Description

Precision Talent Solutions is supporting a client in their search for a Superintendent based in Norfolk, Virginia, supporting projects throughout the Virginia Beach / Norfolk / Hampton Roads region. The Superintendent will oversee construction task order projects, supervise subcontractors and field personnel, and ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with federal and Department of Defense (DoD) standards. This role requires strong construction management experience across multiple trades, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and direct engagement with federal customers and subcontractors. The Superintendent will play a key role in maintaining safety, quality control, and effective communication across all project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee task order construction projects throughout the Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Hampton Roads region.
Supervise subcontractors and field personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project execution.
Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to guide field operations.
Ensure adherence to OSHA and EM-385 safety requirements across all project activities.
Oversee multi-trade construction activities, including electrical, HVAC, fire alarm, fire suppression, and architectural components.
Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project scope, schedules, and quality standards.
Enforce corporate and site-specific quality control programs.
Maintain regular written and verbal communication with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams regarding project status and updates.
Coordinate project execution with federal and DoD stakeholders to ensure mission and compliance requirements are met.
Manage field logistics, project timelines, and resource allocation to support successful project delivery.
Support collaboration between internal teams and subcontractors to maintain project schedules and performance expectations.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum three years of experience as a Quality Control Manager on industrial or commercial construction projects.
Previous experience supporting federal or Department of Defense (DoD) contracts.
Experience managing construction projects exceeding $500,000, particularly HVAC and electrically intensive projects.
Familiarity with NAVFAC projects preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA and EM-385 safety standards.
Experience implementing or enforcing corporate or site quality control programs.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction plans.
OSHA 30 Certification (or ability to obtain after hire).
U.S. Citizenship required.
Valid Driver’s License required.
Current favorable NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiry) or ability to obtain.
Active or ability to obtain a security clearance preferred.
Experience working with 8(a) companies preferred.
Existing relationships with federal or DoD customers in the Southeast region are a plus.
Knowledge of construction project workflows and organizational procedures.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and common construction management or communication platforms.
Strong understanding of customer service and stakeholder engagement practices.
Knowledge of data privacy and confidentiality principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time management and task prioritization abilities.
Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams and subcontractors.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
Supervise on-site subcontractors and field personnel to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Must be able to obtain and maintain access to military installations, if required by contract.
