Senior Project Manager

Precision Talent Solutions is supporting a client in their search for Project Manager based in Norfolk, Virginia, supporting projects throughout the Virginia Beach / Norfolk / Hampton Roads region. The Project Manager will provide full-service construction, renovation, and civil works supporting both government and private sector clients, with extensive experience delivering facility maintenance, repair, renovation, and construction projects for the U.S. Government. The Project Manager will oversee project planning, scheduling, documentation, and coordination across construction projects while ensuring compliance with federal contract requirements and quality standards. This role will work closely with the project team, subcontractors, and customer representatives to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual obligations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee task order construction projects throughout the Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Hampton Roads region.
• Plan and organize construction projects and sub-projects of varying complexity.
• Drive and monitor daily project progress, ensuring work packages and activities remain on schedule.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and Schedule of Values (SOV).
• Provide regular updates to project stakeholders regarding project status, milestones, and risks.
• Maintain project documentation including trackers, reports, and project artifacts.
• Manage and oversee Definable Features of Work (DFOW) submittal packages in coordination with the Project Superintendent.
• Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives related to project management processes and procedures.
• Participate in internal improvement initiatives and operational enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with ISO procedures and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) requirements.
• Support project quality initiatives and review trade contractor means and methods to ensure alignment with contract requirements.
• Review and analyze submittal data, product specifications, scopes of work, engineering reports, and project plans to verify compliance with project requirements and client expectations.
• Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process, ensuring requests are logged, reviewed, and routed to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Support testing programs and milestone inspections to ensure materials and installations meet project specifications and contractual standards.
• Conduct random project site audits throughout the construction process to verify compliance with specifications and contract documents.
• Coordinate project activities to ensure continuous production and adherence to established project standards.
• Interface with Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) quality control personnel when applicable.
• Travel occasionally to project sites as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum seven years of experience supporting federal or commercial construction projects.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Experience supporting federal construction projects preferred.
• USACE Quality Control Certification preferred
• OSHA 30 Certification (or ability to obtain after hire).
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications preferred
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
• Knowledge of organizational workflows and project management processes.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and construction or collaboration software platforms.
• Understanding of customer service and stakeholder communication practices.
• Knowledge of data privacy and confidentiality standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective time management and prioritization skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and customers.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
