Position Title: Psychiatrist
Division: 1 Health
Locations: Yokosuka, Japan; Iwakuni, Japan; Sasebo, Japan
** Position contingent upon award of contract, government acceptance of candidate, and positive adjudication of government investigation.
Position Summary
1 Health Solutions is committed to placing people first as we accelerate healthcare delivery and provide superior health readiness for military and federal communities across the globe. We are seeking a Psychiatrist for a long-term contract providing personal medical services in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) at Yokosuka, Iwakuni and Sasebo in Japan. As part of the 1 Health Solutions team, healthcare workers (HCWs) will support Navy Medicine operations by delivering medical services to active-duty military personnel, their dependents, eligible DoD civilian employees, retirees, and other authorized beneficiaries designated by the Government.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.
• Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.
• Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.
• Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.
• Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
• Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols.
Education & Experience Requirements
• Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
• Education: Graduation from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA), graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or graduation from a medical school with evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification.
• Certification: The DoD only recognizes certifications issued by boards that are members of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists
• Internship/Residency/Fellowship: Completion of an accredited residency approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
• Experience: Three of the last four years as a Psychiatrist
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands
• Services Shall be provided Monday through Friday between the hours of 0600 and 1800. The HCW shall be assigned an 8 shift, (to include an uncompensated .5 hour meal break) In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per 2-week period.
• Work is primarily performed indoors at a Military Treatment Facility; employee shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time, have the physical ability to perform assigned tasks, able to lift twenty (20) pounds
• Must be a United States citizen, successfully pass an extensive government background investigation, and receive government client approval.
