Position Title: Pharmacy Technician
Division: 1 Health
Location: Okinawa, Japan (Kadena Air Base)
** Position contingent upon award of contract, government acceptance of candidate, and positive adjudication of government investigation.
Position Summary
1 Health Solutions is committed to placing people first as we accelerate healthcare delivery and provide superior health readiness for military and federal communities across the globe. We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a long-term contract providing personal medical services in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) in Okinawa, Japan. As part of the 1 Health Solutions team, healthcare workers (HCWs) will support Air Force Medicine operations by delivering medical services to active-duty military personnel, their dependents, eligible DoD civilian employees, retirees, and other authorized beneficiaries designated by the Government.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures.
• Perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.
• Perform information consultation duties including supporting new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physician's requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.
• Perform quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.
• Perform supply process duties including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, producing not in stock reports.
Education & Experience Requirements
• Education: Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.
• Certification: Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
• Experience: One year of experience within the last two years as a pharmacy technician.
Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands
• Services Shall be provided Monday through Friday between the hours of 0600 and 1800. The HCW shall be assigned an 8 shift, (to include an uncompensated .5 hour meal break) In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per 2-week period.
• Work is primarily performed indoors at a Military Treatment Facility; employee shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time, have the physical ability to perform assigned tasks, able to lift twenty (20) pounds
• Must be a United States citizen, successfully pass an extensive government background investigation, and receive government client approval.
