Position Title: Mental Health Registered Nurse
Division: 1 Health
Location: Okinawa, Japan (Kadena Air Base)
** Position contingent upon award of contract, government acceptance of candidate, and positive adjudication of government investigation.
Position Summary
1 Health Solutions is committed to placing people first as we accelerate healthcare delivery and provide superior health readiness for military and federal communities across the globe. We are seeking a Mental Health Registered Nurse for a long-term contract providing personal medical services in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) in Okinawa, Japan. As part of the 1 Health Solutions team, healthcare workers (HCWs) will support Air Force Medicine operations by delivering medical services to active-duty military personnel, their dependents, eligible DoD civilian employees, retirees, and other authorized beneficiaries designated by the Government.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
• Perform physical exam and health histories.
• Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
• Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
• Direct and supervise care provide by other healthcare professionals.
• Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
• Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
• Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
• Perform nursing services identified in the TO.
• Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
Education & Experience Requirements
• Degree: Associates Degree of Nursing.
• Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
• Experience One year of experience within the last two years as a registered nurse.
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands
• Services Shall be provided Monday through Friday between the hours of 0600 and 1800. The HCW shall be assigned an 8 shift, (to include an uncompensated .5 hour meal break) In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per 2-week period.
• Work is primarily performed indoors at a Military Treatment Facility; employee shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time, have the physical ability to perform assigned tasks, able to lift twenty (20) pounds
• Must be a United States citizen, successfully pass an extensive government background investigation, and receive government client approval.
