Job Description

McLaughlin Research Corporation is looking for a Fleet Support Technician / Logistician to provide waterfront Fleet support for LOS ANGELES (688) Class and VIRGINIA (774) Class Submarine vertical launcher systems. Duties for this role will include performing maintenance, troubleshooting, repair/replace and testing of Submarine Vertical Launcher System (VLS) and VIRGINIA Payload Tube (VPT) mechanical systems, Tube Control Panels (TCPs), Tube Control Cables (TCCs), and Weapon Control Cables (WCCs). This tasking may be required to be performed down to the component-level by utilizing drawings and standardized test procedures. Duties will also include conducting of trend analyses, training/mentoring of both ships force and Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) personnel, and providing on-site, waterfront support for NUWC as needed. The position will require collaboration with Commander, Submarine Forces, Pacific Fleet (COMSUBPAC), Submarine Sailors, Naval Shipyards, Submarine Squadrons, Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs), Performance Monitoring Teams (PMTs), Naval Munitions Command (NMC), Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT), and Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Keyport (NUWCDIVKPT).

Job Requirements

- Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant work experience
- Thorough knowledge of 688 Class Vertical Launch System (VLS) and 774 Class VIRGINIA Payload Tube (VPT) system
- Knowledge of VLS and VPT hydraulic system components and operation
- Knowledge of VLS/VPT Air Pressure Vent (APV) system components and operations
- Knowledge of VPT Multiple All-Up-Round (AUR) Canister (MAC) system, components, and operations
- Knowledge of VLS/VPT hatch components and operations
- Knowledge of VLS/VPT-related Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE), including, but not limited to, platforms, ballast cans, and AURBb
- Knowledge of maintenance requirements for Weapon System Readiness Assessment (WSRA)
- Ability to analyze data collected during system monitoring and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and understand system diagrams and wiring schematics
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
