Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Systems Test Engineer/ Principal System Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This position will be in the Rancho Bernardo area of San Diego, CA.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated candidate to join our team as a Test Engineer. This role involves the development and publication of Integrated Test Plans, detailed test plans, test schedules, and test procedures for System Level (SYSIII) testing. The ideal candidate will also provide essential laboratory support for integration testing and facilitate test planning working groups.

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Organize and lead test planning working groups.
- Collaborate with design and analysis teams to define test configurations and data requirements.
- Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure the completeness of the test program.
- Conduct technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive evaluations at the system level.
- Support test readiness reviews and conduct pre/post-test briefings.
- Conduct and contribute to pre- and post-test data analyses to support anomaly identification and resolution.
- Maintain metrics on testing status and constraints.

Basic Qualifications for Systems Test Engineer:
- A Bachelors of Science in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 2 years of relevant experience or a Masters degree with 0 years of relevant experience.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Test Engineer:
- A Bachelors of Science in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 5 years of relevant experience or a Masters degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
Basic Qualifications for both levels:
- Must have an active U.S Government Secret Clearance
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time to meet business needs.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Capability to work with minimal supervision and develop effective approaches to problem-solving
- Able to support on extended work hours, weekend shift rotation, and second shift
- Experience working with requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in a lab environments
- Knowledge of system engineering processes
- Familiar with the Agile development methodology
- Familiarity with IBM Jazz
- Familiarity with IBM DOORS
- System Requirement development experience
- Prior MQ-4C Triton experience
