If you love high profile and challenging projects supporting the U.S. Coast Guard - Serco has a great opportunity for you! This Engineering Technician position will be on a dynamic team responsible for Command Control Communications Computers Cyber Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Afloat and Ashore based communications support, maintenance, and sustainment on various USCG platforms in the Charleston, South Carolina area. Bring your technical expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact on national security missions.
This positon is contingent upon your ability to maintain your active Secret clearance. This position is also contingent upon an award of contract.
Serco supports the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic, including support for the Command Control Communications Computers Cyber Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Afloat and Ashore based communications systems lifecycle activities on USCG platforms.

Salary range: The hourly amount for this position can be found at the top of this posting. This role is covered by the Service Contract Act. For positions on this contract, we will pay the prevailing wage rate for the location in which the employee is working, as determined by the Department of Labor and the Wage Determination (WD). The wage rate will vary depending on the locality. Additionally, you will receive Health and Welfare Benefits based on the WD for the contract. In this role, you will:
- Perform engineering technician support tasks, including installation, integration, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
- Support engineering and systems teams by assisting with prototype builds, equipment setup, system modifications, and implementation of approved engineering changes.
- Conduct inspections, measurements, functional checks of systems, subsystems, and components to verify compliance with technical requirements, drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Support system integration, verification, validation, troubleshooting, and operational testing during laboratory, shipboard, and fielded environments.
- Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of system or component failures and support implementation of corrective actions under engineering direction.
- Prepare, update, and maintain required technical documentation, including installation records, test results, inspection checklists, maintenance logs, configuration data, and as-built documentation.
- Support Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) activities by providing objective evidence, inspection data, and test documentation in compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality Assurance Plan (QAP).
- Ensure assigned work is performed in compliance with applicable technical standards, safety requirements, NAVSEA guidance, MIL-STDs, and contract-specific procedures.
- Support Government inspections, audits, and acceptance activities conducted under the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) by demonstrating work results and providing supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with engineers, quality personnel, logistics staff, and program management to ensure technical tasks are executed in accordance with schedule, quality, and performance requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- High School Dipolma/GED or Technical school diploma with a minimum of 5 years work related experience in electrical/electronic systems.
- Active DoD Secret clearance is required to be considered.
- Expereince p erforming engineering technician support tasks, including installation, integration, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
- Travel up to 10% may be required.

- Base Houly Rate: $23.26 per hour
- Health & Welfare (H&W): $5.55 per hour (paid in addition to base wage) - The H&W rate is intended to cover the cost of bona fide fringe benefits as applicable in compliance with regulations.
- Comprehensive Benefits Note: The company's comprehensive benefits package is designed to meet or exceed the required Health & Welfare fringe rate and is submitted in compliance with applicable Wage Determination guidelines.
