Further Information About This Opportunity
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering (or similar technical degree)
• 3+ years experience with aerospace materials (polymers, composites, metals, etc.) - development, production, and/or testing of materials (or equivalent)
• The ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and special program access, therefore U.S. citizenship is required
• The ability to obtain a respirator certification, as use of a respirator is required for this position
Desired Skills:
• Experience with electrical and mechanical material characterization techniques and process development
• Experience working in a Lab Environment or previous experience working in a hands-on and/or manufacturing environment
• Experience with data analysis, review, compilation, and presentation
• Excellent technical documentation and writing skills for creating/revising material and process specifications, reports, and test plans
• Excellent teammate. Willing and able to work in a laboratory environment by themselves or with other team members
• Experience with project planning and project management
• Experience establishing, tracking, and maintaining deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to plan/coordinate lab activities
• Experience building effective internal and external customer relationships
• Advanced degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering or equivalent
• Experience preparing and delivering technical presentations to supporting teams and leadership
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

What You Will Be Doing
As the Material and Process Eng Snr you will be responsible for advancing low observable material technologies across multiple programs, driving research, development, and production readiness within the LO Materials team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design, develop, fabricate, and test low observable materials and systems.
- Develop and execute material development plans, process development, and test methods for thin films, polymers, composites, metals, and additively-manufactured materials.
- Author material and process specifications, lab reports, and formal documentation of all work performed.
- Support manufacturing process development, scale-up, and coordinate with external suppliers on technical issues.
- Perform life-cycle analyses including sustainability, reliability, availability, and maintainability.
