Job Description

As a Lead Network Engineer, the individual will provide a full range of Information Technology (IT) engineering and installation (E&I) services primarily in Kuwait. In this role, the Lead Network Engineer will manage the design, maintenance, and security posture for the enterprise network to provide secure and reliable communications for all users. This includes troubleshooting inter- and intra-theater links. The individual will work under the immediate supervision of a military shift leader or other contract personnel designated by the PM.

This role requires on-site 5 days a week in Kuwait

Responsibilities
  • Engineers and integrates routing protocols (BGP, BGP VPNv4, EIGRP OSPF, ISIS, RIP, MPLS, and VRF) and Multicast protocols (PIM, MSDP, and MBGP). Switching protocols (spanning tree, CST, MISTP, PVST, RPVST+, VTP, DTP, GVRP, MAB, VLAN, and private VLAN). DMVPN technologies (NHRP phase 3, per tunnel QOS, IKE, IPSEC, EZVPN, and site-to-site VPN). IP services (WCCP, AAA, QOS, IP SLA, EEM, Syslog, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, and NTP).
  • Devises solutions to uncommon problems.
  • Capable of writing Statements of Work and Work Breakdown Structures.
  • Prepared to work with IT Project Managers for proper project delivery.
  • Develop documentation to serve as required artifacts for the infrastructure.
  • Proficient in both strategic and tactical military network infrastructures.
  • Network management tools and protocols (TDMA, NetFlow, SNMP, Cisco Works, GEM-X, SNMPc, ACS, ASDM, and CSM)
  • Cisco routers and switches, Nexus, ASAs, FTD, FMC, and GD TACLANEs.
  • Provides a manned 24/7 network engineering support for the design, configuration, implementation, operational management, and troubleshooting of the enterprise network, including network monitoring. This includes conducting IP management for the theater.
  • Performs day-to-day operations, monitoring, problem identification and diagnosis.
  • Resolution of network problems in support of DODIN services and networks. This includes providing:
    • Theater-level network modeling and simulation
    • Capacity planning
    • Network optimization (e.g. grooming)
    • Traffic engineering
    • New requirements analysis support
    • Configuration management system updates
    • Network integration support
  • Supports and facilitates demonstrations of Coalition or Joint network capabilities. This may include providing support to military exercises and documenting results in the form of a technical report
  • Additional requirements for the content and format of this technical report may be provided by the exercise or demonstration sponsor
  • Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting team

Required Qualifications/Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to manage a diverse team and promote a collaborative environment within and across IT teams
  • Must have a minimum of 8 or more years' experience in a network administration role
  • Must have a Cisco CCIE Certification
  • Must be DoD 8570 certified at the IAT-III / IAM-II level- CASP, CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO with the exception of CAP, and HCISPP
  • Must be able to manage a diverse team and promote a collaborative environment within and across IT teams
  • Must have proven network engineering, operations, and performance analysis skills
  • Must have previous experience with Network management and monitoring tools
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skill
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visio and Word
  • Must have and maintain Secret Security Clearance or higher

Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Information Technology, Information Management, or Cyber Security)
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Certification
  • Prior experience with modern data center technologies, such as Cisco VPC, Cisco VDC, and VRF Lite
