Duties
SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is: To exercise managerial authority over the 435th Air Ground Operations Wing (AGOW) Wing Staff Agency (WSA) operations and assist wing leadership in the execution of priorities pertaining to the organization's mission and high echelon taskings. Additionally serving as the liaison for overall wing civilian equities to the Numbered Air Force (NAF) and host unit.
DUTIES:Plans, organizes, and directs WSA activities of the 435th AGOW. Represents 435th AGOW with a variety of installation, functional area organizations, higher headquarters, and local, host nation, and federal officials. Serves as Project Officer for Commander directed initiatives and special interest items. Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
In order to qualify, you must meet the SPECIALIST experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions- Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series (0301)
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 (or higher) grade level or equivalent (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). Examples of specialized experience include- knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative personnel, or substantive administrative support functions (i.e. internal activities or functions such as supply, budget, or personnel, which serve to facilitate line or program operations); Knowledge of management and organizational principles, practices, regulations, laws, methods, techniques, to include staff operation functions to manage the executive services staff and various programs; and to develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions; Knowledge of current missions, capabilities, organization, and operations of Agency, USAFE-AFRICA, EUCOM, NATO AIRCOM, AFPC, HAF and other DoD organizations; and Knowledge of program analysis concepts, complex management processes, financial and budgetary policies, contracts, procedures, and Agency functions.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in -grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:In-depth knowledge of management planning policies, practices, regulations, and laws associated with the organization's structure, mission, functionality, capabilities, and limitations related to staff functions. Knowledge of Department of Defense related safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the military institution, culture, demographics, management principles, practices, methods and techniques, and skill in integrating management services with the general management of an organization. In-depth knowledge of personnel management, EEO, safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures, especially those specific to the Air Force. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to plan, be extremely organized, detail-oriented with analytical skills to run day-to-day WSA activities and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium-sized organization. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

- This is a Term position NTE 1 Aug 2026; the individual selected for this position may be extended without further competition. - This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
- The duties of this position meet all requirements as a category 4 designation and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and cannot become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve,")
