We are looking for an Enterprise Management System (EMS) Network Administrator to join a team of network engineers and technicians supporting our customer, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) under the Revolutionary Information Technology Services (RITS) contract.

What will you be doing?
Supporting the USACE as a member of the enterprise network operations team performing administrative, reporting, design, and maintenance tasks on various Enterprise Monitoring platforms. In addition, specific focus on operational excellence by conducting planned and coordinated network maintenance, break/fix actions, service level agreements (SLAs) performance, incident resolution, ticket queue management, customer service actions, and other enterprise network operations activities in the USACE OCIO/G-6 environment, IAW DoD, Army, and USACE O-CIO G6 policies and procedures.

Knowledge requirements include various Server Operating Systems, WAN/LAN Network concepts and devices, and Monitoring Software packages from a variety of vendors including Microsoft, Broadcom, Dynatrace, and Nexthink. Members of the Enterprise Monitoring Systems team will interface with customers from all levels of the organization and will need to demonstrate an understanding of how Enterprise Systems impact each customer’s work to implement the tools in a comprehensive, customer-facing fashion. A successful member of the team will be able to provide individual and group training on the tool set and will be able to write technical and policy documentation as needed.
Responsibilities:

• Maintain Server Operating Systems – Windows Server 2022 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and 9) running on physical and VM platforms
• Install, Upgrade, and Maintain Monitoring Application Software running on a variety of Operating Systems
• A solid understanding of WAN Concepts and Data Circuits (T1’s, MPLS, VPN and Enterprise VPN, SONET, Ethernet, Fiber, etc…)
• Ability to communicate complex technical subjects to non-technical customers
• Follow agreed processes and procedures for providing solutions to customer requests or issues
• Maintain call quality standards at the level set to meet customer expectations including adherence to work schedules and standards
• Delivering customer communication to the appropriate level of understanding to ensure a successful outcome
• Document policies, procedures and issues in ticketing system as well as in internal knowledge base
• Ability to analyze and make recommendations to better assess, assist and meet the needs of internal clients
• Work independently, help others, and ask for help without hesitation while delivering outstanding customer service and as part of team
• Demonstrate strong client relationship skills
• Collaborate openly and frankly with all internal and external partners, such as Government Engineers, Contractor Engineers, Contractor Operations staff, Management, and 3rd party vendors.
• Maintain support for customers in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
• Take appropriate action on tickets placed into individual or team queues to resolve incidents in a timely manner.
• Act in accordance with USACE OCIO/G-6, DOD, and Army G6 policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned/required.
Requirements:
• Secret Clearance required prior to start.
• Experience with installing, upgrading, maintaining, and providing training/documentation for a suite of Monitoring Tools including but not limited to:
o Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
o Broadcom DX NetOps Spectrum
o Broadcom DX NetOps Network Flow Analysis
o Broadcom DX NetOps Performance Manager
o Dynatrace (Upcoming)
o Nexthink (Upcoming)
• Familiarity with Cisco IOS, Networking Config Files, Concepts and Hardware
• MS PowerShell
• SNMP v3 Traps and Polling
• Bandwidth Analysis
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for Monthly Reporting
• Advanced System and Network Troubleshooting Skills
• SQL and MySQL
• Bachelors degree and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and no years of related experience.
• 6+ years of professional, applicable experience.
• Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level I (examples include: A+ CE, Network+ CE, SCCP, CCNA-Security certifications).
• Must have CompTIA Security+ and Cisco CCNA certifications.
• Working technical knowledge of network control protocols (QOS, PfR, PoE, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (CDP, FTP, TFTP, SNMP) and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, AAA, IPSec).
• Strong knowledge of IP communication and routing is required (OSPF, BGP).
• Understanding of WAN/LAN transport technologies (Ethernet, DMVPN, MPLS).
• Normal work hours are Monday through Friday; 8-hour shift between 6AM and 6PM local time. Willingness to work on a rotating On Call Schedule. After hours support may be required on an infrequent basis.
• Strong analytical and follow through skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language.
• Ability to coordinate and get cooperation from multiple areas within IT to accomplish assignments.
