The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at B Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX is searching for a Space Experiment Support Engineer to support SYD 89/SDT (NH-0801-03, GS12/13 Equivalent).

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this position is a senior professional engineer holding a bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited institution, with a strong background in systems engineering, particularly in space systems acquisition and integration. This individual will have extensive experience serving as a technical expert and consultant on complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects that involve electronics, mechanical, and/or aerospace principles. They should be adept at planning, organizing, and directing projects in space systems acquisition, including defining system requirements, evaluating design approaches, and developing system specifications. The candidate must possess or be able to obtain within 24 months an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) Level 2 or 3 certification in a relevant area such as Test & Evaluation (T&E) or Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering-Systems Engineering (SPRDE-SE). Essential skills include an expert knowledge of advanced engineering theories, the ability to lead teams, manage resources, build coalitions, and communicate effectively to persuade and negotiate. A proactive approach to problem-solving, strategic planning, and managing customer needs is crucial, as is the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.

Knowledge of processes and procedures related to program management and strategic planning activities needed to execute projects and/or studies within established financial and time constraints. - Must be a U.S Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework".
- This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
- Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
- PCS / Relocation funding is authorized.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
- Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, "Confidential Financial Disclosure Report." Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training.
- This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
- Subject to TDY approximately 15 days a year.
