Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angles AFB, El Segundo, CA is searching for a Deputy System Program Director, SYD 84/MW within the Space Missile Center Enterprise (NH-1101-04, GS-14/15 Equivalent).
Description:
In the day-to-day operations as the Deputy System Program Director (SPD), you will be the central force driving our mission forward. You will spend your time actively mentoring a high-performing team, establishing the metrics that guarantee our success, and strategically balancing complex, multi-million-dollar budgets. You won't just be working behind the scenes, you will be our primary voice, partnering closely with the SPD to lead the division, shape critical outcomes, and frequently brief senior executives and general officers on program milestones. If you are ready to use your expertise to resolve high-level roadblocks, empower the next generation of acquisition professionals, and champion innovative solutions that save time and resources, we want you to help lead our team.
Ideal Candidate:
**Minimum- Master's degree in engineering, or science, or business management field**
- Demonstrated experience as a supervisor and technical leader
- Strong OPIR mission and end-to-end systems expertise (highly desired)
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple multi-functional teams and lead multiple teams and to communicate and coordinate work as one team with common goals
- Experience leading a geographically diverse team (highly desired)
- Knowledge and experience driving closure and resolving complex technical issues and challenges
- Demonstrated ability to deliver in fast-paced environment
- Experience with satellite systems, payloads, and complex ground systems through development, integration, and test (highly desired)
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to translate into actions and results
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members, leadership, subordinates, and numerous stakeholders- MUST have leadership experience and skilled in managing a diverse workforce.
- Working knowledge/experience in Military and Department of Defense Civilian personnel management human resources systems.
- Working knowledge/experience as a United States Air Force (USAF) or United States Space Force (USSF) Acquisition Program Manager.
- Working knowledge/experience working with the USAF/USSF Financial Management System/process
- Working knowledge/experience managing and operating a multi-layered security organization.
- Desired: Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Certified in Program Management, Engineering, Contracting or Financial Management.
Mandatory: Bachelor's degree. Desired: Master's degree.

- Must be a U.S Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework".
- This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
- Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
- PCS / relocation funding is authorized.
- This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 20 days a year.
- Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually, thereafter, file an OGE-450, "Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
- This position has been designated as a Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
