Application Support Engineer
Location: Remote - supporting federal cloud and application infrastructure operations
Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer to support a federal client in sustaining and supporting mission-critical applications and services within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments.
In this role, you will provide backend administration, application support, and infrastructure troubleshooting across cloud and virtualized environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support secure, scalable application operations while helping ensure reliability, performance, and compliance for enterprise federal systems.

In this role, you will provide backend administration, application support, and infrastructure troubleshooting across cloud and virtualized environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support secure, scalable application operations while helping ensure reliability, performance, and compliance for enterprise federal systems.
What You'll Do
As an Application Support Engineer, you will:
- Support the sustainment, administration, and operational support of enterprise applications and services within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Assist with requirements definition, infrastructure design, technology component implementation, and testing activities
- Install, configure, and maintain application client tools within VMware/Horizon VDI environments and image pools
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for application, connectivity, and integration issues
- Diagnose and resolve application performance, authentication, and integration challenges
- Configure and support load balancing for enterprise applications
- Support SAML/SSO authentication and application-level identity integrations
- Ensure systems comply with STIG requirements using tools such as Evaluate-STIG, Mitre SAF Heimdall, or equivalent solutions
- Manage licenses, encryption keys, and sensitive credentials within approved vaulting solutions
- Develop and maintain CDRL documentation and operational support materials
- Create management plans and perform system sizing validation and forecasted capacity planning activities
- Support operational stability, system availability, and performance optimization across enterprise application environments
- Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Remote work supporting federal technology operations
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree required
- Must be eligible for T3/T5 background investigation processing
- Minimum of 7-10 years experience with Linux administration, including Oracle Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience with VMware VDI/Horizon environments
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience with Microsoft Windows Server Administration
- Minimum of 7-10 years experience with Micro Focus ALM Octane or related application lifecycle management platforms
- Experience administering at least two of the following tools: ALM Octane, UFT, LoadRunner, Dynatrace, ReadyAPI, or CyberArk
- Experience in diagnosing and resolving application connectivity and integration issues
- Knowledge of SAML/SSO authentication and application-level configuration for identity integrations
- Experience supporting production application environments and operational sustainment activities
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting secure federal cloud or enterprise environments
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, infrastructure automation, or enterprise monitoring tools
- Experience supporting STIG compliance and vulnerability remediation activities
- Experience supporting production application deployments and infrastructure modernization initiatives
- Experience working in highly regulated or security-focused operational environments
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, observability, or performance management tools
- Support enterprise federal applications and cloud infrastructure critical to mission operations
- Work with advanced OCI, virtualization, and enterprise application technologies
- Collaborate with experienced cloud, infrastructure, and cybersecurity professionals
