DirectViz Solutions (DVS) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Engineer I to support cybersecurity operations and system hardening activities within a secure government environment. This role will focus on implementing cybersecurity best practices, conducting vulnerability assessments, applying security patches, and supporting compliance initiatives across Windows and Linux platforms.
The ideal candidate will have foundational cybersecurity experience, hands-on exposure to STIG implementation, and experience working with vulnerability management tools in support of DoD cybersecurity requirements.

DirectViz Solutions (DVS) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Engineer I to support cybersecurity operations and system hardening activities within a secure government environment. This role will focus on implementing cybersecurity best practices, conducting vulnerability assessments, applying security patches, and supporting compliance initiatives across Windows and Linux platforms.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform system hardening activities in accordance with DoD cybersecurity standards and security best practices.
- Implement and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).
- Analyze and remediate vulnerability findings, including applying vendor patches and security updates.
- Support cybersecurity compliance and security posture improvement initiatives.
- Assist with identifying, documenting, and resolving cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with system administrators, engineers, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure secure system configurations.
- Maintain documentation related to vulnerability remediation, system configurations, and cybersecurity activities.
- Support ongoing cybersecurity audits, inspections, and assessments.
Required Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Must possess a minimum certification equivalent to DoD 8140.01 Cyber Workforce Framework 541 (Basic Level) or successor requirements.
- Active Tier 5 security investigation with IT Level I designation in JPAS and/or DISS required for all privileged users.
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of cybersecurity experience performing system hardening activities.
- Hands-on experience implementing STIGs in secure environments.
- Experience conducting vulnerability assessments using ACAS.
- Experience remediating vulnerabilities and applying vendor patches within:
- Linux operating systems
- Windows operating systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies and RMF processes.
- Experience supporting secure enterprise or government environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative technical team environment.
Clearance Requirement
- Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain/maintain required clearance.
- Must maintain eligibility for privileged user access requirements.
