Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off)
Pay: $145,200 – $255,990/year
(Major metro CA/MA/NY range: $167,000 – $289,340/year)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced ASIC/FPGA Engineer V to support advanced military space, missile defense, satellite surveillance, deep space exploration, and aerospace R&D initiatives within a highly collaborative aerospace and defense environment. This role is responsible for leading ASIC/FPGA technical execution, project planning, architecture development, team leadership, and engineering delivery activities supporting mission-critical aerospace systems. The ideal candidate has strong ASIC/FPGA development and verification expertise, technical leadership experience, and the ability to balance hands-on engineering responsibilities with program execution and team management activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Lead ASIC/FPGA technical execution activities supporting aerospace, missile defense, and space system programs
• Build and maintain strong technical relationships while serving as trusted advisor and technical point of contact across multiple programs
• Lead and mentor high-performing engineering teams supporting concurrent ASIC/FPGA development initiatives
• Develop and execute project plans supporting schedule, budget, quality, and delivery objectives
• Support workload planning, resource allocation, and progress tracking activities across engineering teams
• Foster technical excellence through mentorship, architecture guidance, code reviews, and engineering best practices
• Balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities including mentoring, project oversight, and execution management
• Review and release engineering work products to agreed quality standards
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify, scope, and plan new technical opportunities and future program work
• Perform advanced chip architecture development supporting new aerospace and defense programs
• Prepare status reports, loading reports, and materials supporting operational reviews and engineering management activities
• Assist with technical proposal development, scope capture, scheduling, risk mitigation, and performance assessment activities
• Support highly collaborative aerospace and national security engineering environments requiring strong technical leadership and communication skills
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
• Experience supporting design, debug, and/or verification of ASICs and/or FPGAs
• Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship required
Additional Qualifications
• Experience leading or managing ASIC and/or FPGA engineering projects
• Experience supporting space system design and aerospace hardware development
• Understanding of system and hardware requirements related to aerospace and space systems
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and Atlassian JIRA or equivalent project management tools
• Experience serving as a Control Accounts Manager (CAM) utilizing Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
• Strong customer-facing communication and technical presentation skills
• Strong self-starter mentality with ability to learn quickly in fast-paced engineering environments
• Strong leadership, collaboration, mentoring, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance preferred
• Experience supporting highly classified aerospace, missile defense, or national security programs preferred
