Job Description
Top Skills' Details
Systems Engineering across full lifecycle (requirements → design → integration → test → operations)
Space-based ISR systems (AMTI, radar, RF payloads)
Radar system design & signal processing
RF payload development, integration, and production testing
Performance modeling & estimation (detection, tracking, coverage)
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML tools (e.g., Cameo/MagicDraw)
Job Description
The role focuses on delivering independent technical oversight and advisory across the full system lifecycle—from early design through launch and initial operations. You will evaluate contractor designs, validate system performance, and ensure mission requirements are met through rigorous systems engineering practices.
Acting as a critical bridge between government leadership and industry partners, you will support design reviews, integration and test efforts, mission performance analysis, and risk management activities. The position requires deep technical expertise in space-based radar systems and the ability to influence program decisions through data-driven insights and clear communication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in aerospace, electrical engineering, physics, or related field preferred
Prior SETA or government advisory experience
Familiarity with DoD/IC acquisition frameworks (JCIDS, DoD 5000)
Experience working with prime contractors and subcontractors
Background in satellite/payload engineering and communications architectures
Experience with crypto integration, multi-sensor fusion, and data processing systems
Participation in integration & test campaigns, launch readiness, and early orbit operations
Proficiency with engineering and collaboration tools:
Cameo/MagicDraw
Tableau
Jira, Confluence, DOORS
Python, MATLAB
Employee Value Proposition (EVP)
Exposure to senior government leadership and strategic decision-making
Opportunity to operate as a trusted technical advisor rather than a traditional contractor role
Broad visibility across the entire system lifecycle and multiple mission domains (space, ground, data)
Ability to shape architecture, performance, and risk posture of a major program
Work Environment
High-visibility, fast-paced program with mission urgency
Collaborative environment across government, primes, and industry partners
Technically rigorous and intellectually challenging work
Emphasis on independent thinking, critical analysis, and leadership-level communication
Blend of engineering depth and strategic advisory responsibility
Business Drivers/Customer Impact
Directly contributes to a high-priority national security mission involving advanced space-based radar capabilities
Influences critical program decisions through independent technical expertise
Enables mission success from concept through on-orbit operations
Supports the delivery of next-generation ISR capability with real operational impact
