Job Description

Description
The Defense Sector at Leidos is seeking a Tactical Radio Technician to join our team at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea. This role places you at the heart of the PACAF C5ISRO II mission, supporting critical IT and communications capabilities across the Pacific Theater. If you’re driven by mission impact, technical excellence, and hands‑on operational work, this position offers a rare opportunity to contribute directly to U.S. Air Force readiness in one of the most strategically important regions in the world.
As a Tactical Radio Technician, you will play a key role in the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of ground‑to‑air tactical radio systems that enable secure, reliable communication for the 621st Air Control Squadron (ACS). The 621 ACS operates more than 40 UHF/VHF fixed radios and SATCOM systems across 14 remote sites throughout the Korean peninsula, supporting air control operations for the 8th and 51st Fighter Wings during combat training and contingency missions.
In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical expert to senior engineers and squadron leadership, applying your knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) systems, tactical radios, Radio‑over‑IP (RoIP), and related technologies. You will be responsible for monitoring, installing, modifying, overhauling, troubleshooting, and repairing mission‑critical components that keep these communication systems operational around the clock.
You will also maintain and troubleshoot radio networks—including switches, routers, long‑haul circuits, multiplexors, cryptographic devices, and radio gateways—to ensure optimal analog and digital voice transport. Your work will directly influence system reliability, mission readiness, and the successful execution of air operations.
This position requires meticulous documentation, including technical reports, baseline configurations, system health assessments, and lifecycle support materials for the BCS‑K architecture. You will conduct regular PMIs, maintain detailed maintenance records, and collaborate closely with senior engineers, field technicians, and vendor partners to integrate emerging technologies and enhance system performance.
Finally, you will provide training and mentorship to fellow technicians and end‑users, ensuring proper operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of tactical radio equipment.
