Job Description

Security Architecture Advisor
Location: Remote
Required Clearance: Public Trust

Since 1999, ITEC has delivered mission-critical support to the DoD and Intelligence Community. Now part of ManpowerGroup Public Sector (MGPS), we continue that work with expanded capabilities. Employees hired through this process will join MGPS and receive a comprehensive benefits package and competitive pay.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Security Architecture Advisor who guides early-stage IT and AI prototypes by evaluating architectural soundness and identifying risks so solutions can scale into secure, enterprise-ready patterns. The role ensures alignment between IT and Information Security roadmaps while developing reference architectures, security baselines, and AI-specific architectural standards. It also provides security-by-design guidance to programs, reviewing technical architectures to confirm adherence to Zero Trust and cloud-native security principles.

Job Responsibilities:

Support and Guide Early-Stage IT Prototypes.

  • Evaluate IT and AI prototypes, pilots, and proofs-of-concept to ensure architectural soundness and early risk identification.
  • Provide security architecture advisory during early shaping so that prototype designs can scale into enterprise-ready, secure patterns.

Align the IT & IS Roadmaps

  • Collaborate with IT, IS, and Enterprise Architecture teams to integrate security requirements, identity standards, logging expectations, and AI platform constraints directly into the multi-year enterprise roadmap.
  • Identify emerging technologies entering the IT roadmap (ie., AI agents, model hosting, embedded AI features) and ensure IS has corresponding patterns and baselines in place.

Create Detailed Architecture Guidance & Baselines

  • Develop, publish, and maintain reference architectures, security patterns, and implementation baselines that guide teams adopting new technologies.
  • Translate high-level security principles into practical architectural guardrails for identity, boundary protection, observability, secure development, and AI integration.

Define Architecture Standards for AI & Agentic Systems

  • Support creation of AI-specific architecture and security patterns, including requirements for model hosting, agent orchestration, multi-agent interaction, and secure tool integration.
  • Establish baselines for safe use of enterprise AI platforms, including reference designs for prompt-handling systems, AI-enabled workflows, and observability requirements.

Provide Architectural Review & Guidance to Programs

  • Advise program teams on security-by-design approaches for new or modernized systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise patterns and architecture principles documented in enterprise architecture files.
  • Evaluate technical architectures for proposed programs and major changes to ensure they follow Zero Trust-aligned and cloud-native security principles.

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of GenAI ecosystems (LLMs, vector databases, prompt frameworks, multi-agent systems).
  • Strong grounding in cloud security principles across Azure/AWS/GCP.
  • Knowledge of authentication, authorization, key management, API security, and secure development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with enterprise logging architecture (SIEM integration, audit requirements, telemetry baselines).
  • Ability to write high quality architectural guidance documents and clear requirement sets.
  • Strong communication and facilitation: able to brief engineers, PMs, and executives.
  • Ability to perform light threat modeling and identify architectural security gaps.
  • Experience supporting early stage programs, POCs, and product teams through solution shaping.

Desired Skills:

  • Prior work in enterprise security architecture or cloud architecture.
  • Exposure to Responsible AI programs or AI governance councils.
  • Experience defining controls or requirements for new technologies (AI, serverless, microservices, data platforms).
  • CISSP, CCSP, or relevant cloud certs (Azure Architect, AWS Solutions Architect) helpful but not required.

Education Level:

Bachelor’s Degree
