System Engineer II

Purpose:

• Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a System Engineer II in Virginia Beach,VA.
• This position is to provide research and development, and engineering efforts to support Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division Dam Neck (NSWCDD) initiatives.

Job Description:

• Provide support to develop and maintain engineering, technical, and configuration documentation for technical data package (TDP) elements and change control documentation.
• Control and monitor engineering drawings that are included within TDPs.
• Maintain government approved drawing repositories
• Updated engineering drawings per requests from manufactures, OEMs, and/or other government departments.
• Updated and monitor drawings schedules to ensure milestones are met
• Provide support in the development, tracking, and processing of Ship Change Documents (SCDs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and Problem Reports related to the SSDS MK 2 project Support.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Engineering degree from an ABET accredited school and at least 3 plus years of experience with SSDS, Navy, and/or shipboard systems.

• Must have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (I.e., Project and Excel).
• Must be able to support on-site tasking at Dam Neck Annex Base

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working with AutoCAD and Inventor, preferred.
• Experience with Navy Data Environment (NDE), preferred.

Security Requirements:

• Must have an Active DoD Secret Security clearance and base access requirements.

Travel Requirements:

• Less than 10%
• If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
• Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
• Communicating with others to exchange information
• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
