Duties
As a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN), GS-2210-14, you will perform the following duties:
(1) Responsible for operational training and mission accomplishment of multiple diverse squadrons, with a drill status guard military population typically in excess of 900 personnel located across several states, comprised of multiple units whose installations are geographically separated. Accountable to a wide variety of federal, state, and local authorities on all aspects of operations, personnel, equipment, funds, environmental compliance and real property management.
(2) Determines unit goals and establish the foundation for short and long range planning and execution of all unit programs - directly and through subordinate staff officers and aligned detachment commanders. Formulates policy and provides command perspective for mission and programmatic changes affecting the Headquarters and/or aligned units. Provides focus for all unit functions and activities. Considers factors such as current and future mission needs, political climate, environmental considerations, area demographics, radio frequency spectrum availability, tactical training location accessibility, and other local limitations when developing unit goals to support national and state military strategies. Provides operational control and support to organizations assigned as subordinate units to the Headquarters. Responsible for the overall integration of the mutually supported mission roles of the diverse squadrons for system training in support of the Air Force mission. Ensures all Group assets are ready to support a variety of traditional and non-traditional military roles and missions such as overseas training, deployment of personnel or equipment in support of active Air Force missions, Homeland Defense, state emergencies, disaster relief, and drug interdiction. Provides liaison coordination for total integrated training of all aligned units in support of the wartime missions.
(3) Responsible for managing the Group wartime mission training program. Ensures Unit Type Code (UTC) training meets requirements and achieves combat readiness objectives. Ensures Group augmentation personnel are combat ready to support an AFFOR/AOC. Maintains mission readiness and complies with service directives as validated by the Unit Compliance Inspection process by the MAJCOM Inspector General and other reviewing agencies. Demonstrates readiness and mission capability through detailed Air Force Operational Readiness Inspections (ORIs). Makes critical judgment and on-the-spot decisions regarding the safety of deployed personnel in tactical environments. Quickly resolves emergencies and directs emergency response efforts as mishaps occur. Recommends changes in organizational structure, including specific changes, such as new unit missions or new mission areas.
(4) Responsible to ensure the availability of mission capable AFFOR/AOC augmentation UTCs, for aligned capabilities which includes Communications-Electronics, Engineering Installation, Space Operations, and/or Air Traffic Control. Ensures Group assets are ready to meet training and Air Force contingency requirements. Monitors adequacy of maintenance, supply management, and equipment repair processes. Assures timely notification of higher headquarters and concerned agencies when potential system wide Communications-Electronics, Air Traffic Control, Engineering Installation, or satellite equipment deficiencies are identified.
(5) Responsible for formulating, justifying, presenting, and executing multi-million dollar Operations and Maintenance (O&M), Military Personnel (MILPERS) and Environmental Management budgets, including both federal and state appropriated funds. Ensures logistics plans, supply inventory levels, and stock fund authorizations are adequate to support unit activity levels and meet mobilization/mobility and wartime requirements. Ensures the propriety, accuracy and timeliness of procurement/contracting and payroll activities.

Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
Compatible military grade and assignment required within one year of the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Ohio Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: O-5 through O-6
For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade.
SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE : Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
