Job Description
Position Description/Summary:

The Housekeeping Aid is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and orderly conditions throughout assigned facilities. This position supports daily custodial operations to ensure a safe, clean, and professional work environment for employees, tenants, visitors, and customers.

Duties:
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, labs, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax, and buff floors as required.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
  • Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, walls, doors, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.
  • Restock restroom supplies, paper products, soap, and other consumables.
  • Remove debris, spills, and trash from interior and exterior areas.
  • Perform light snow removal, salting, and entryway cleanup as needed.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or supply shortages to supervision.
  • Follow all safety procedures, chemical handling requirements, SDS guidance, and PPE requirements.
  • Support special cleaning projects, event setup/cleanup, and emergency cleaning requests as assigned.
  • Maintain custodial closets, equipment, and supplies in a clean and organized condition.
Skills & Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and custodial equipment.
  • Ability to lift, bend, stand, walk, and perform physical work for extended periods.
  • Must maintain professionalism and comply with site rules, security requirements, and customer expectations.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May work around cleaning chemicals, wet floors, dust, and other routine custodial hazards.

Work Expectations:

The Housekeeping Aid is expected to complete assigned work orders, maintain assigned areas to contract standards, respond to customer concerns professionally, and support the overall mission of maintaining a clean, safe, and operational facility.

Qualifications
