Concept Plus is seeking a Junior Python Developer with at least 3 years of hands‑on software development experience to support a mission‑critical, enterprise-scale application operating within secure client environments, including Denied, Degraded, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) communication conditions. This position focuses on Python development, support for Pyodide‑based execution environments, secure coding practices, and backend feature development under the guidance of senior engineers. The ideal candidate is eager to learn advanced concepts in DevSecOps, Zero Trust architectures, and disconnected operations.

What you'll do
- Backend Engineering (Python & Pyodide) Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development, debugging, and enhancement of Python backend components.
- Assist with analyzing and refactoring existing Python codebases under senior developer guidance.
- Build and maintain Python modules intended for Pyodide execution, ensuring compatibility with WebAssembly and browser‑based runtimes.
- Support lightweight Python execution for DDIL or offline-first environments using Pyodide and related tooling.
- Follow secure coding standards aligned to DoD cybersecurity frameworks (NIST SP 800‑53, 800‑171, CMMC, STIGs).
- Assist with resolving defects, IRs, performance issues, and data-related errors.
- DevSecOps & Cloud Responsibilities:
- Participate in secure CI/CD processes including static code scanning (SAST), dependency checks (SCA), and pipeline validation.
- Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to ensure Python code and Pyodide packages integrate cleanly with build and deployment workflows.
- Learn and apply Cloud One or GovCloud development practices, including environment validation and configuration.
- Follow Git-based workflows including branching, pull requests, and secure version control practices.
- Develop foundational understanding of Zero Trust development principles and secure execution environments.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Support ATO-related processes including documentation updates, vulnerability remediation, and compliance tracking.
- Handle PII, PHI, and CUI securely across all code and data workflows.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to User Assessment Events (UAEs) and support backend-related human-centered design improvements.
- Collaborate effectively with multi-vendor teams and government stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain a government clearance.
- 3+ years of Python development experience, including backend feature development.
- Bachelors Degree
- Foundational understanding of Pyodide, WebAssembly concepts, or browser‑based Python execution models.
- Experience with REST APIs, data modeling, and working with backend service integrations.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
- Ability to follow secure coding guidelines and learn DoD‑aligned security standards.
- Experience using Git in a collaborative engineering environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to take direction from senior engineers and contribute to team-based problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues and contribute to team-based problem solving.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Cloud One platform
- Experience supporting OPMED systems • Familiarity with Defense Health Agency systems such as (OMDS, MedCOP, MHS GENESIS)
- Experience with micro-frontend architecture
- Familiarity with GraphQL and Apollo Client
- Contributions to open-source projects or a demonstrable public portfolio
