Orion is seeking a highly analytical and technically fluent Program Management Technical Specialist to support a dynamic portfolio of Space Domain Awareness (SDA) programs. This role works at the intersection of science, engineering, software development, and program execution, helping translate complex technical and financial data into clear, actionable insights that drive program performance and customer satisfaction. You will partner closely with Program Managers, technical leads, and senior leaders to ensure programs are delivered with rigor, transparency, and operational excellence.

This role works at the intersection of science, engineering, software development, and program execution, helping translate complex technical and financial data into clear, actionable insights that drive program performance and customer satisfaction. You will partner closely with Program Managers, technical leads, and senior leaders to ensure programs are delivered with rigor, transparency, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve dashboards, reporting tools, and execution metrics that provide leadership with visibility into technical progress, schedule performance, staffing health, financial execution, and emerging risks.
- Analyze large sets of technical, operational, and financial data to identify trends, diagnose inefficiencies, and support data-driven decisions across multiple programs.
- Prepare program-level reporting for internal leadership and government partners, including monthly reviews, variance analyses, performance summaries, and milestone tracking.
- Partner with scientists, engineers, software developers, and business teams to capture and synthesize inputs across technical and operational domains.
- Support program planning activities such as baseline development, resource forecasts, schedule coordination, and risk identification.
- Help build scalable, repeatable processes that enhance program visibility, improve compliance, and strengthen execution discipline across the SDA portfolio.
- Contribute to the development of automated reporting pipelines and business intelligence tools that streamline program operations.
- Translate highly technical R&D activities into accessible insights, ensuring stakeholders at all levels understand program status and priorities.
- Operate effectively in multidisciplinary environments involving atmospheric science, ionospheric physics, sensor development, modeling, analytics, and advanced algorithm design.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, data science, business analytics, aerospace, or a related technical discipline.
- 8-10 years of experience supporting technical programs, advanced R&D efforts, aerospace and defense initiatives, or government contract execution, OR Master's degree with 6-8 years of experience, OR PhD with 3-5 years of experience.
- Possess and maintain a TS security clearance.
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with large, multivariate data sets to support program or operational decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with personnel across technical, operational, and business functions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Space Force, DoD, Intelligence Community, NASA, AFRL, SSC, or SDA-related programs.
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM), Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS), risk management frameworks, and agile development environments.
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, SQL, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or advanced Excel analytics.
- Background in data analytics, modeling, statistical analysis, or computational problem solving.
- Experience building automated reporting processes or analytical dashboards that support program or technical operations.
