Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Functional Quality Engineer (QE) Staff supporting MFC Production sites.

What you will be doing
The Quality professional will be responsible for identifying ideal production processes for Technology insertion and implementation with the goal of increasing yield, reducing cost, and improving product quality.

The selected candidate will work closely with Production sites and Programs to identify pain points where business process improvements and technological automations can be deployed and scalable to improve production performance.

You will act as a Subject Matter Expert in Quality Engineering and serve as an Advisor to the Functional Quality team.

This position requires that the candidate stay current with industry standards, quality engineering solutions and leverage technology to prevent defects, reduce waste and ensure product meets customer requirements.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Identifying ideal processes for automation and developing business case with clear ROI justification.
Evaluate and select scalable technology solutions that are easy to adopt and integrate into current and future processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams at Production sites, Program Quality Engineering to provide solutions to complex problems, focusing on continuous-process improvement.
Provide technical liaison support for Quality and Production Engineering/operations matters.
Leverage hands-on experience with Production Operations, Manufacturing, and Quality-control processes.
Drive strategies that will result in optimal business methods and practices for strengthening the Quality Management System and talent development.

Basic Qualifications:
Must be a US Citizen and have ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to start.

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.

Knowledge of quality standards and methodologies: AS9100, Six Sigma, Lean, Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical requirements.

Strong written/oral communication; capable of presenting to diverse teams from other Business Areas and Senior Leadership.

Effective project management and interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration.

Familiarity with manufacturing or production documentation and failure reporting.

Proficiency with root cause analysis techniques (5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, process maps etc).

Experience with facilitation of Root Cause and Corrective Action in a cross functional team.

Generally, has 5+ years of related experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, or Production Operations
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with emerging industry 4.0 technologies, robotic process automation (RPA), or automated inspection systems.

Proven track record of implementing technical solutions or automation to improve production yield and quality.

Strong experience developing business cases and calculating Return on Investment (ROI) for technical implementations.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to scale solutions across multiple production sites.

Demonstrated experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Kaizen).

Strong Data-analysis skills and application of statistical tools.

Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP, or Tableau) to drive data-driven decision-making.

Advanced understanding of quality engineering principles specific to high rate production.

Advanced certification in quality (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Black Belt).

Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and industry-standard quality frameworks.

Experience acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or advisor to cross-functional leadership teams.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
