Job Description
A fast-growing AI-native cybersecurity company is seeking a Senior Product & Engineering Manager to own and accelerate its Federal product portfolio. This is a hybrid leadership role combining product management and engineering management — ideal for a mission-driven leader who thrives at the intersection of cutting-edge AI technology and national security.
You will define and deliver AI-powered offensive and defensive cybersecurity capabilities for Federal Civilian Agencies and DoD organizations, working directly with Engineering, Go-To-Market, and executive leadership. This role requires deep technical fluency, proven product instincts, and the ability to operate in Authorization to Operate (ATO) and CONMON environments.
Reports to: Director of Federal Operations | Location: Washington DC Metro Area (preferred) | Travel: Up to 15%
CLEARANCE & ELIGIBILITY
• Active Top Secret security clearance required at time of application
• US Citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain clearances across multiple Federal Compliance Frameworks
• Experience operating in classified network environments is strongly preferred
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and Deliver AI-Native Cybersecurity Capabilities
• Lead engineering teams to scope and deliver ML- and GenAI-enabled features, including anomaly detection, alert enrichment, and remediation inference
• Define product strategy and marketing for Federally compliant AI cybersecurity capabilities — spanning web application penetration testing, threat intelligence, threat detection and response, and vulnerability risk intelligence
• Collaborate with attack engineers and business intelligence teams to translate cybersecurity research into actionable applications for detection, response, emerging threats, and attack emulation
• Identify and pursue market differentiation opportunities across verticals and maturity levels within the Federal market
Enhance Existing Offensive and Defensive Capabilities
• Partner with Go-To-Market to drive adoption and growth of AI-enabled alerts, recommendations, and attack capabilities, with particular focus on platform performance in regulated environments
• Synthesize customer feedback — from vulnerability research teams, field conversations, support events, and usage data — to continuously refine offensive and defensive capabilities
• Lead engineering teams through enhancement sprints and continuous improvement efforts that raise accuracy, precision, and measurable value of AI-generated insights
• Monitor usage, adoption, and efficacy metrics; make data-driven roadmap decisions for your ownership area
• Partner with Compliance Specialists, Security teams, and Engineers to ensure ATO CONMON procedures are met on time and to standard
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Active Secret or Top Secret clearance (US Citizenship required)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology-related field
• 5+ years of Product Management experience with technical B2B products, ideally at a startup or growth-stage company
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AI-focused products, preferably within the cybersecurity industry
• Demonstrated leadership: ability to set direction, connect daily work to broader mission, and build an environment where teams do their best work
• Proven experience operating cloud products or workloads in highly regulated environments, including classified networks
• Strong technical aptitude — comfortable diving deep into ML systems, security architectures, and complex tech stacks
• Advanced data analysis skills using tools such as Excel, SQL, BI platforms, and Python
• Bias toward action: default to moving fast while maintaining quality and compliance standards
• Executive presence: track record of working directly with senior leadership to drive strategy and deliver against success criteria
• Servant leadership mindset: demonstrated humility and ownership in driving initiatives forward
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with ATO processes across FedRAMP, DISA STIGs, or similar Federal Compliance Frameworks
• Familiarity with offensive security techniques, including penetration testing and attack emulation
• Prior experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community customers
• Experience managing roadmaps across both Federal Civilian and DoD customer segments
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, zero-trust architectures, or cloud-native security platforms
WHY THIS ROLE
This is a rare opportunity to build AI-native cybersecurity capabilities that directly protect critical national infrastructure. You will have significant ownership across product and engineering, with direct access to executive leadership and a clear path to shape the company's Federal strategy. The team moves fast, thinks deeply, and is mission-driven in the truest sense.
