SAIC is seeking a Automation Software Systems Engineer Team Lead to support the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC) Naval Messaging CB ISEA. The work will be conducted at the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC) San Diego, CA, Old Town Center. The SAIC Team provides a full range of engineering, technical support, management, training, and logistics services in support of the Messaging programs. Support of these systems includes technical support for installations, providing systems and software engineering, cyber security, software development and infrastructure as code, training development and delivery, integration and testing of hardware and software functions, and testing of new baselines and/or new capability of messaging systems.

JOB DUTIES:

• Lead the project efforts to automate the deployment and update of system infrastructure for the Naval Messaging program.
• Work with a team responsible for developing, integrating, testing, and deploying a system that is isolated from the internet.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to simplify and accelerate software deployment and configuration.
• Establish and maintain GIT repository in development environment isolated from internet.
• Create, install, and maintain virtual machines, containers, and applications with pre-built software applications in a Red Hat Linux environment.
• Provide system administration support for Red Hat Linux based servers.
• Provide configuration and administration support for VMware vSphere, vCenter, NSX.
• Provide installation, configuration, and administration support for database, identity and access management, and messaging services incorporated into an automated deployment and update environments isolated from the internet.
• Develop scripts and code for automation of system builds, deployments, test and maintenance.
• Document system configurations and administration processes.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Will consider additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have an Active Secret clearance to start
• Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI after start
• Preferred background as a software engineer with experience with Design, System Administration, System Automation, Documentation, Testing and Maintenance of Software Systems in an Agile environment using CI/CD tools.
• Experience with VMWare networking and resource management tools, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and deploying virtual machines and containerized applications using Docker, Podman, OpenShift, vCenter, VMware and/or Python and
• JavaScript, and setting up GIT repositories.
• 5+ years Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administration (with Ansible experience)
• 3+ years GIT Repository setup/configuration and administration (Gitlab, Github, or Bitbucket).

Required skills:

• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, YAML, Powershell, Python and BASH Scripting.
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administration.
• Experience with Nutanix software administration and configuration.
• Candidate should have strong computer and networking skills and demonstrate a working knowledge of current applicable military and commercial standards and specifications.
• Experience documenting system installation and maintenance procedures.
• Candidate must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Visio, Project, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Word).
• Excellent Communications Skills are imperative.

Required certifications:

• Current CompTIA Security+ at a minimum.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Professional level vendor certifications such as Microsoft or Linux+

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
