SUPV IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN/INFOSEC)

Duties

• Plans and assigns work to subordinate supervisors or to personnel who guide and control work. Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors and establishes priorities and schedules.
• Collaborates with heads of other units to negotiate, decide, and/or coordinate work-related changes affecting other units.
• Develops subordinate supervisory evaluations and evaluates performance.
• Leads strategic planning and policy development to align LOB IT standardization and consolidation with DISA and OSD objectives.
• Directs strategic planning and goals to meet DoD customer information requirements across a geographically dispersed and heterogeneous LOB environment.

• This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
• In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
• This is a covered position and the person selected for this position must complete an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment pursuant to 5 CFR 2634.903(b) (DoD 5500.7).
• This is a Drug Testing Position.

Qualifications

Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies appropriate to, or above, the level of this position. For vacancies below the full-performance level of the position, the basic requirement will be evaluated on a developmental basis. Basic Requirements:

Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards

Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs

Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience

Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions

Qualifying Experience:

In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must possess qualifying experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: developing and maintaining business, systems and information processes to support enterprise mission needs; developing information technology rules and requirements supporting hybrid cloud architectures

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-15 grade level.

• This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.
• If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment.
• This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service
• A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
• This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position.
• Accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 3 year probationary period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
• Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination
