Job Title: Information Technology Systems Administrator | The Forgemaster
Location: Dayton, OH
Who You Are:
As an Information Technology Systems Administrator, you live in the cloud. You think in subnets, security groups, and identity policies. You're the person who sees a manual process and immediately starts mapping out how to automate it. You know that great infrastructure is invisible to everyone except the engineer who built it, and you take pride in that quiet excellence. Like the Forgemaster crafting tools of industry, you forge the cloud and network infrastructure that keeps the business moving.
Who We Are:
Infinity Labs is an innovation-driven company with world-class expertise in the defense and national security sectors. Infinity provides cutting-edge engineering technologies and solutions, including modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A), research and development (R&D), cyber operational technology, and training. Our extensive project portfolio covers a vast range of physical scales and applications, from materials and components to subsystems, platforms, and systems of systems. We integrate science and systems as part of our overall solutioning approach and we investigate advanced concepts and technologies with disruptive application potential. The sophistication of our work directly reflects the ingenuity and proficiency of our team. Our workforce shapes the future, and our employees are our greatest asset.
What You’ll Do:
Azure Administration: Own day-to-day administration of our Azure cloud environment, including virtual machines, compute resources, storage, networking, and resource governance.
Virtualization & Compute: Provision, configure, and maintain virtual machines and supporting compute infrastructure. Right-size workloads, manage snapshots and backups, and keep performance and cost in balance.
Network Security: Build and maintain firewall rules, network security groups, and segmentation policies. Work with our security team to ensure traffic flows are intentional, documented, and aligned with least-privilege principles.
Identity & Access: Administer Entra ID (Azure AD), conditional access policies, group-based access, and integrations with downstream applications.
Automation & Scripting: Use PowerShell and other scripting tools to automate provisioning, configuration, reporting, and routine administrative tasks. If you're doing it more than twice, you're scripting it.
New User Onboarding: Serve as the onsite resource for setting up new team members, including device provisioning and account configuration.
Hardware Inventory: Share responsibility for maintaining accurate hardware and asset inventory records.
ITSM Processes: Manage and contribute to our ITSM processes, ensuring service requests and incidents that come your way are handled with timely, accurate resolution and clear documentation.
Project Execution: Lead and contribute to IT infrastructure projects from planning through execution and documentation, with an emphasis on cloud, identity, and network initiatives.
Process Improvement: Help shape standard operating procedures, runbooks, and documentation that scale with the organization.
Additional Duties: Take on other duties as needed to support evolving business priorities.
Minimum Qualifications/What You’ll Bring:
2–5 years of experience administering cloud infrastructure, with hands-on responsibility for Microsoft Azure (compute, virtual machines, storage, networking, resource groups).
Demonstrated experience configuring and managing firewall rules, network security groups, and cloud network segmentation.
Strong PowerShell scripting skills, with the ability to automate provisioning and administrative tasks.
Working knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD), conditional access, and identity-based security models.
Solid networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, and the ability to read and reason about network flows.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint) and Microsoft Intune for endpoint management.
Nice to Haves:
Experience administering Azure in a GCC High environment.
Experience with AWS (GovCloud a plus) or hybrid/multi-cloud architectures.
Familiarity with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) platforms and modern secure-access tooling.
Experience with Apple devices and MDM systems.
Familiarity with Power Automate and Power Apps for workflow automation.
Education/Credentials:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience and industry certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Security Engineer, Security+) will also be considered.
US Citizenship is required for consideration, as this job requires a US government security clearance.
Nice to have: Secret level clearance.
Acceptable: No current clearance but eligibility to obtain.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position and work on a computer for prolonged periods
Ability to travel to other locations up to 5-10%
Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 35 pounds occasionally
This job description provides a high-level review of the responsibilities of the position and is not intended to be a complete list of all responsibilities, duties or skills that may be required for the job. The job description is subject to review and change at any time and other job-related duties or requirements may be assigned as necessary.
What We Offer:
